zodiac and the bible
by Crazyguy ini have seen and read plenty of stuff on the net that implies many of the things in the bible are actually refuring to the zodiac.
one example would be that in the new testament the 'end of the world' phrphrase is actually a miss translation and it should say 'end of the age' and that this age that is being talked about is the change to the new sign of the zodiac which occurred at about 125 ad to the sign of picees.
has anyone done any extensive research on this theory that ma y things referred to in the bible is actually talking about the zodiac signs etc.

It seems to me that Astrology is just another fairy tale with zero hard evidence to back it up. Even when they break away from the JWs, some people are still susceptible to believing in make-believe stories. The best bet is to stick with scientific facts instead of Magical Thinking.

I would just ignore it unless they mention something about it. Just be pleasant and ask the usual questions about world events, etc. Allow them to do much of the talking. Everyone loves to be listened to. Act interested.

How to disassociate? HELP
by Mandrake ini'm looking for a way to disassociate myself, now i'm thinking to make a "public declaration" before a civil law notary (i'm in chile), but i need some ideas about what to put in that declaration, i would like to look the "ks" book to cover all possible sides and make a solid declaration... any experiences?
my plan is to make that legal declaration that would say "i'm no longer consider myself a jehovah's witness nor want to be linked to any of the wt organizations or legal entities, and want all my personal records to be erased"... any orientation will be helpful :).

Why give the JWs the satisfaction of playing by their rules. Your legal grandstanding will prove nothing....to them it will just show that you are a spiteful apostate. Nobody else in the community will care in the least. All this will say is that you 'played by the JW rules to the bitter end'. You are no longer a JW the moment you CHOOSE not to play their game anymore. In 'normal' churches when you decide to leave you just stop attending. And no longer call yourself a member of that religion. No need for a Grand Announcement. My advice is to just AT THIS MOMENT declare to yourself that you are no longer a participant in the JW religion. Then, look forward and move on to more positive interests. Just leave the Witnesses behind. If the elders or anyone else tries to question your decision, just tell them you are not going to discuss it. End of Story!!

Better be careful about wearing colorful socks. It's prohibited according to the Bible. Aren't all JW rules Bible-based????

Double-life, sounds like a prison sentence....or maybe not?
by sparrowdown inquestion: do you think the "double-lifers" have the best of both worlds?.
just asking, because i have wondered, if i had an outlet to express my utter.
disgust and general dissatisfaction with wt teachings and cong-life while i. was still in, ie on forums etc, maybe i would never have left.. just a thought, anyone else have any?.

Living a 'double life' brings on a lot of inner stress. Similar to an 'in the closet' gay person trying to maintain a straight image. If at all possible, the best bet is to fade or find some way to ditch the JW life totally. Freedom and peace of mind is preferable to trying to maintain the 'false image' of being a JW

I hate religion

I say sacrifice HUMANS and leave the poor animals alone. If I could push a button and disappear every human on Earth I would do it in a second. The world was a lot better off before the human 'virus' came along. Sounds harsh but that's the way I feel.

How did you feel when you got baptised? Seriously....
by stuckinarut2 inso recently, several over-righteous ones in the cong were discussing "how amazing it felt when they got baptised".
statements like "how awesome did it feel as you got raised back out of the water?!".
or the classic "i felt so close to jehovah as i came out of the pool"!.
-
NAVYTOWN
ANY feeling or lack of feeling after being baptized is strictly coming from the person's own subconscious mind. If you felt 'close to Jehovah' it was because subconsciously you were re-experiencing the warmth and closeness of your original human parents. Symbolically, of course. I felt nothing special because I had a poor attachment to my parents as a baby. So therefore I didn't WANT to re-experience that. But by my not feeling close to Jehovah I actually did recreate the earlier experience. Maybe this is all too Freudian for most folks, but it is my take on the matter. Much of what we say, do and feel in life is rooted in our subconscious mind. It is always trying to recreate and solve our early-life conflicts. Exactly why certain people are drawn to the Witnesses and other totalistic cults. We are drawn to the religion, or non-religion, that most meets our inner early-life emotional needs.

PS: I looked at that website.....what comes to my mind is: 'If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is'. This isn't an actual job. It is YOU paying THEM for the privilege of giving your time to them doing some vague, unspecified things. You'll be PAYING somewhere around $5000 total for this 'experience'. I notice they won't even give you the names or numbers of previous 'volunteers' so you can verify that everything is on the level. Something just doesn't seem right about all this. Don't throw your money away.....and, WHERE exactly are you getting the money for this 'adventure' anyway??? If you BORROW it that will only add to your existing debts when you return home. And then you'll be right back where you are now, with even more debt to pay back.
