  What Galvanizes the Preaching in Most Witnesses? What Did it For You?

  'couldn't be done without the holy spirit' is the phrase that i have seen spouted by loyal dubbies.

  no doubt appearing subtly or explicitly in one or more of the watch tower publications.

  i'm wondering, if you could think back to when you were preaching, especially if you were pioneering, what were your personal motivating factors, what did you tell yourself, and was there a source of that suggestion?

  i have been a jw now for about 6 years and have been the model witness.

  about a year ago i started reading my bible and writing down verses that i didn?t understand.

  Is This a False Quote From AWAKE! ?

  i've had two witnesses tell me that this is false (apostrate) info from the 5/22/94 awake!

  i got it from the page of the ajwrb website, and it's supposedly from p. 2 of awake!

  they tell me that's wrong...so...is it out of context?

  i preached to a jw and they used the following verse against me:

  phi 2:6

  "who existing in the nature of god, did not consider being equal to god something to be held onto," he said that this was one of the texts that disproved the trinity because it does not state that he was god, but that he existed in the nature of god: divine.

  Is the Koran an Inspired Book?

  from what i gather--in my opinion--here i go again the book is very negative; it's obsessed with the punishment in the hereafter for the "unbelievers" (an oft cited word in the book) and speaks of them being : chastised in the fire.

  " i lost count of the number of times this phrase is used.

  the book does not present a loving god--but a vindictive harsh one, more concerned with punishment than life and forgiveness.

  after spending my lunch break chatting with some born again christians who were street witnessing in my area, they suggested i read this book.

  they said it would answer all the criticisms i highlighted in the bible.

  has anyone read it?
