hey all.
i have not posted here for 2 years maybe?
i was formerly jwbot.
I'm glad to see you again; I've wondered how you've been doing. And you're doing great! Congratulations on finishing college and on the terrific job!
Emma
i haven't posted here in ages.
but i have this huge question mark in my head and this is the perfect place to get some feedback without compromising my sister.
my sister is an active jw.
Just always be trustworthy with anything she confides in you so when the time comes she can come to you without fear. She may not have come to terms with her own sexuality yet. Perhaps there will be an "aha" moment for her and you will be there for her. If she doesn't know it herself yet, she would scoff at the idea if you mention she's attracked to another woman.
i have pondered this question on many occasions.
when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.
i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.
No one tried to help or encourage me, not even my own mom and sisters. I found out that they were having conversations with the elders in my cong and the elders told them how much they'd try to help us and we refused! So they knew there were "problems" but never came to me with love to find out what. I knew the elders lied, but was shocked to hear how much they were lying bastards. My own family never asked what might be wrong; they told me that I needed to return to the cong and confess my wrong doing because they believed that was the only reason I'd stay away!!!!! I was completely innocent, hadn't done a thing.
I'm glad they didn't try; they made it so much easier for me! The shunning made my course of action so much easier! If they only knew it had the opposite effect of what they wanted.
ann arbor, mi the thomas more law center, a national public interest law firm based .
in ann arbor, michigan, has submitted a friend of the court brief supporting the right of .
physicians to refuse to perform medical procedures that violate their sincerely held religious .
Well, they certainly wouldn't be forced in Michigan. There's already a law that allows any one in the health care profession to refuse to treat anyone they think will offend their religious beliefs. So if they percieve someone might be gay, they can refuse to treat them. This one apparently slipped through our conservative legislature. It doesn't end with treatment of gays by any means, applies to birth control and reproductive issues, too.
i took ill the morning after the memorial (my wife and i both attended.
we arrived about 30 minutes after first symptoms.
the ems guys were at my house in .
I'm glad you're OK and that you made the decision you did. I experienced significant blood loss this fall and in the ER made sure I wrote on the form that I had no objections to any type of treatment using blood and asked that it be put in the computer immediately; I later signed a consent form though thankfully didn't have to use it.
Though you would have chosen a different time for this discussion I think you handled it quite well.
i haven't missed a memorial since i started attending over 50 years ago.
tonight i was expecting the hall to be jambed as usual.
i sat in the 5th row from the front and from where i sat, i could see 31 empty seats--there may have been more.
Attendance was down because last year's memorial was the last one before the big A, remember?
a friend and i were discussing the possible means by which the wts could drop 1914, the last remaining significant prophetic flop-date to which they cling.
i believe they will feel compelled to do so, and i believe they will do so within the next 5 years.
they tend to drop significant prophecies before crucial anniversaries that make them a clear laughingstock.
Light getting brighter? Sounds like its fading fast.
for lurkers and those not yet aware of this, because we have new ones joining us every day.
in 1993 david koresh led more than eighty branch davidians to their deaths in waco, texas.
in 1978 some nine hundred followers perished in a mass suicide in jonestown, guyana, under the command of their cult leader, jim jones.
The problem is that the GB has convinced everyone they speak from god. Once you have someone convinced of this you can tell them just about everything. The r&f certainly don't understand it; everyone is waiting on jehovah to resolve doubts. How do you crack the "gb speaks from jah" lock and chain that keeps everyone in their place?
as in the contemporary author, without looking on www.google.com?
if you have heard about him, can i ask how long ago you heard about him, and where did you hear about who he is?
just curious.

thank you..
I remember hearing (from a DO or Bethelite or someone "important") that the "society" was going to slowly move things out of the city for safety when things got too bad near the big A. It's taken quiet a while because that was more than 20 years ago. Now they can safely make huge amounts of money from the sales.
