There may be truth in this, and it does make sense as a strategic Decesion.
i actually experienced this in action recently.. 2 Elders Visited my home and asked me why I no longer attend meetings. I told them that there are several Doctrines that I believe to be false, and that I cannot support.
They did not ask.. "Do you think that the FDS is Gods Channel , they asked "Will you be sharing your thoughts with others" .. I responded, "only if others inquire of me first"
It was pretty interesting.. And I was expecting to be DFd or at least have a JC but this visit was 3 Months ago, and I have heard NOTHING in response.
Probably this was a Decesion made exclusively by these Elders, and not the ORG as a whole.

Also If you are aware of a scripture that Explicitely states that God Commanded someone to do something abhorent, such as Murder a Homeosexual,Murder a Adulterer, Sacrifice an Animal,Sacrifice a Child , please post it here..
This isn't a challenge, and while it is my Current Opinion that such a Scripture does not exist, I'll lean on the Knowledge of the Group to Speed up my search .

When God makes a Commandment he does not change his Mind. Numbers 23:19 "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"
God Does Not Show Partiallity Towards Anyone. Job 34:19 "who shows no partiality to princes and does not favor the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of his hands?" Colossians 3:25 "Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism." James 2:9 "But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers."
It is Impossible for God to Lie Hebrews 6:18 "so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us."
Current Theology States the Following :
1.God Commanded that anyone that Commited Adultery would be Put to Death.
2. God States that he is Not Partial.
3. It is Impossible for God to lie.
4. David while Under the Mosaic Law Commited Adultery. God forgave David, and David was not Put to death.
Both of these statements can't be true, there has to be a redaction, to ONE of the Following.
A - God did not Command the Israelites to Stone Adulterers.
B - God Showed Favoritism to David, thus telling a Lie.
Imagine the Implications on the World, if God Would have Forgiven Eve but Condemned Adam to Death.

by punkofnice ina minny man in a local congregation has a beard...he was bullied by the elders to remove it.. then the co came along and told the elders to allow him to keep his beard.
(not as the result of any skin condition or anything).. i kid you not!!!.

It seems if a Brother formed the Proper Scriptural Argument, he could get away from it in Some Congregations.
The argument would go something like this..
The command to not shave My Beard, is in the same area of the Bible that Condemns Tattoos & Blood Transfusions - Leviticus 19:27 " Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."
God had Ezekiel shave off his beard, symbolizing Spiritual Adultery Ezekiel 5:1 " “And you, O son of man, take a sharp sword. Use it as a barber’s razor and pass it over your head and your beard. Then take balances for weighing and divide the hair."
"Aaron had a beard down to his chest or further! - Psalm 133:2"
"People viewed David as Crazy, simply causing he was Drooling on his Beard - 1 Samuel 21:13"
"People Persecuted Jesus.. By Pulling on his Beard - Isaiah 50:6"

I have a Suspicion that there are Individuals who are not Witnesses, that are Pulling the Strings. There have been rumors in the Past that a few Wealthy Jewish families have substantial Financial interests in the WT. Fred Franz had a "advisor" / "bodyguard" named Natheer Salih that was with him at all times, and often even spoke for him.
I have another Suspicion that the same groups & individuals that run The US Government,The Catholic Church and the. Mormon Churches of the World have Influence on the Organization.
If you believe that The WT is part of Babylon The Great, then ties run deep into dark waters.

The bible students from Russell were more protestant, but then Rutherford turned this religion back into Catholic system.
by EndofMysteries ina combination of world religion and western humanities courses at college made me make this connection.
the catholics had a monopoly on christians until luther started the protestant reformation.
all those who broke off from catholics went from the pope being infalliable and the source of salvation and full of non biblical traditions and practices to attempts to stick to bible doctrine only and persona interpretation of the bible and no man on earth as infalliable but that any person can have a relationship with christ and gain understanding of the bible and god's will.

what i want to know is this - the society has inserted the word other in the collosions verses and the one in philippians (above every (other) name).
they've done this for doctrinal matters.

Leviticus 20:13 " "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."
This law and subsequently the Scripture was Added by Israelite Elders, acting on their own, without the support of Yahweh.
Some scriptures that are true and Contradict this False Scripture.
1 Timothy 4:10 " For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe."
2 Peter 3:9 " The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent."
This time of Waiting extends Far Beyond The Great Tribulation as the WT claims, ALL Humans will be Given a Full 1,000 Years to Prove their Willingness to be Righteous.
Romans 6:15 " What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!"
