some thing to consider for bible believers
by Crazyguy inthe oldest in tact bible found is the codex voronicus, (miss spelled) and the oldest writings ever found were the greek septuagint written by jews in alexandria.
both of these collections of writings included the apocryphal and other writings like chapters and other verses of daniel not included in the jw bible.
so the question one must ask, is if your a bible believer how can you just throw out these writings, because reading these additional writings will change your understanding of what you have learned?.

Opusdei - It's difficult to know how much the Book of Enoch has been altered, however I have wondered whether or not much of the Bible was sourced from Enoch.
When you consider Enoch's unique life, and his he was Literally taken from the earth, unlike any other Man, and yo consider the things that he says about who can and cannot write holy scriptures, it really makes you wonder.
Personally I trust the Book of Enoch, more than I do most of the Old Testament.
There is also a book called "The writings of the Holy Twelve" again, its difficult to ascertain how much of it has been altered, but some profess that this book was the source of all of the Gospel Writings.

Magnum - Take a look at this book http://biblehub.com/library/unknown/the_clementine_homilies/ - Clement was a Disciple of Barnabas and he spent extensive time with Peter.. The book starts off a bit slow, but when you get to the parts where Peter discusses the Scriptures, and he prepares to debate Simon Magus, things really get interesting.

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?
by purrpurr inthis i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.
why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?
i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

It is true that no one can be completely certain of the original pronunciation.. However there are some important differences between the 2 names.
The largest difference in my view is the "hey" Or the H in YHWH. Hebrew words and Letters all have intrinsic meanings and symbolism's, some of the meanings and representations of "Hey" are..
"Hey represents the divine breath, revelation, and light (the word "light" is mentioned five times on the first day of creation (Gen. 1:3-4)"
Hey represents Gods creative power .. " In the Talmud (Menachot 29b) it is said that the "breath of His mouth" refers to the sound of the letter Hey - the outbreathing of Spirit."
"Hey functions as the definite article in Hebrew, a sort of demonstrative that points to the object and makes it concrete and definite."
The ancient Semitic pictographic version of "Hey" looked like a Man with his arms reaching to Heaven, or in a stance of praise and thanks..
By removing the Hey and the 2 other letters You take away any Living characteristics or symbols from the name.

Disfellowed on 7/16/14 for sending a letter to my former congregation
by spbondgirl007 init's been quite a while since i lasted posted anything on jwn.
i was in hiding previously, but only because i wanted to avoid the shun gun until i had the opportunity to tell my former congregation what i think about the org./gb.
i last attended a meeting over 2.5 years ago but it wasn't until june--when i earned my bachelor's degree--that i finally had the time to collect my thoughts and get them down on paper...i decided to write my letter in a style i felt would be most appealing to my target audience--jw's still under gb mind control --in the hope that at least a few would read it and actually "think".

Eating Fruit did not kill Adam & Eve.. Rather they were given a choice, and they chose the path that resulted in knowing Evil & Temporary Death.
They had 2 choices :
1. Live forever only knowing Good, in the presence of God.
2. Know both Good & Evil, but suffer temporarily As a result of Knowing Evil.
As soon as they were cast away from the Presence of God, they began to,know and experience Evil.. God still loved them, so he made them a promise. The promise was of a Saviour who would deliver them from Evil.
When Jesus suffered Adam & Eve were delivered from Evil.. " made alive in the spirit; 19 in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, 20 who once were disobedient" 1 Peter 3:19

Surreal experience last night.
by objectivetruth inrecently a jw friend that my wife & i knew 3 years ago added me on facebook, after i accepted the request she invited me to a dinner that her and her husband are holding next month.. i imagined that she was unaware of our apostasy, so i declined the invitation on the basis of not wanting to ruin her dinner after the rest of her guests fled at our presence.. i'm never sure how old friends will react when i tell them that i'm no longer a jw.. usually their response is "..... permanent-silence......".
her response went something like this, " we are all out!
everyone that is coming is out we all look forward to seeing you guys so much" it turns out that there will be 6 people at the dinner all friends of ours from a congregation that we attended a few years back.. they have all left the organization recently.. pretty crazy experience..

People in their 20's and 30's are the First Generation to GROW up with access to the internet.. There minds work differently ans they are more connected to the internet and information found online..
A CO in a talk recently said from the stage that 75% of Kids that were raised in the "truth" are leaving.. I don't know why he would ever mis quote a statistic like this, so I assume that it's true.
Imagine the Generation that is Turning 18-20 now, They've wanted to leave Since they were 12.

Question about dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures, and the eventual appearance of humans.
by pronomono inso i was watching shark week a little while ago and i got to the episode on prehistoric sharks.
they, of course, discussed megalodon, but they also talked about other sharks that were vicious, precise hunters.
then i started thinking about other prehistoric creatures..... t-rex, raptors, etc...... all vicious animals.

Pronomono - There is a good amount of information on this topic, found in the Bible, Apocryphal Writings, Ancient Jewish Writings and even in Mythological Fiction (Based on Ancient Holy Writings) that shows the reasons for Dinosaur & Animal Savagery as well as Human Savagery.
It doesn't seem that your question is very sincere, so I won't spend much time with my response.. If you are sincere I will show you a much more detailed explanation.
God did create Dinosaurs.. He created Dinosaurs the same as Humans.. as Herbivores "Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox." Job 40:15
God did not "all of a sudden wipe creatures off the earth" .. The Nephilim and the Fallen Angels were engaging in Cannibalism eating humans and beasts and anything they could get there hands on, they were also engaging in sexual acts with Beasts and Humans, creating all kinds of Evil Hybrids. If God did not bring the flood, the Nephilim would have annihilated every last true form of Humanity.
If you believed in God would you say that "God Created cannibalistic perverted Nephilim?"
I hope that you can see where I'm going with this.. There are reasons that Scientists have found Evidence supporting Evolution, and there are reasons that Animals are Violent today.. The reason, is not "God Created them Violent"

smiddy - Yes Gentiles did write portions of the New Testament. (In a Sense)
It is a common belief that the Gospel Accounts are not Originals, some Claim that these were all taken from "The Gospel of the Holy 12".. Whatever the source is, the Fospels as we know them were all written, edited, and translated by Christians / Gentiles in the 1st and 2nd Centuries on onward.
