Here are the things I really miss:

1. Being judgemental.

2. Being judged

3. Being scared to death that demons will try to get me.

4. Wondering which kind of torture I will have to endure during the great tribulation

5. Shunning people as if they were less than human

6. Planning how to make glue from barnacles in a beautiful garden-like park - for all eternity

7. Planning how to live in a beautiful garden-like park with my bitch of a sister - for all eternity

8. Planning how it will be to live naked in a beautiful garden-like park without getting a rash - for all eternity

9. Planning on how to put up with the stench of all the dead people before the birds have time to eat them so I can live in a beautiful garden-like park - for all eternity

Emotional Rant

on the radio tonight i heard about a child sold for a small color tv into slave labor.

the people on the radio, they laughed.

how the hell is that funny?

It is a horrible world that some of our fellow human beings live in. I think about it often, especially if I have to go to a dinner party where all the shallow women discuss how hard it is to find towels to match the decor in their bathrooms. My husband has friends that he has known since childhood and at their parties that is the sort of deep conversations I must endure. I mentor two girls for Kinship and when this vapid, airheaded group found out, they just looked at me in stunned disbelief. One of them said, "what do you do that for?"

These are all 50 something people with kids in private college and master bathrooms you could house a family of four in and they are so freaking clueless. To put it mildly they all live very comfortable lives and not a one of them does anything to help make this world a better place. I don't have money but I have time and I use it and I so glad to be in the company of you that have some scruples and really care. You are a breath of fresh air.

Toddler Left Home Alone Leaves Hospital

jacksonville, fla. - a 2-year-old girl left home alone for 2 1/2 weeks while her mother was in jail has been released from the hospital after being treated for malnutrition and dehydration, officials said wednesday .

the child, who survived by eating ketchup, mustard and dried pasta, was released late tuesday from wolfson children's hospital to the custody of the state department of children & families.

"the only thing i can tell you is that she is in good condition," hospital spokesman david foreman said.

What in the heck? The Mom was in jail and didn't say she had a baby at home? What was she in jail for? Don't they check on that stuff when they arrest a parent. If the Mom was all drugged up or perhaps mentally ill, maybe she forgot she had a kid. I am not excusing her but for God's sake don't the authorities share some blame for not finding out?

I'm going to be published!!!

a couple of years ago i was part of an on-line writers group.

a few of us got together and wrote an anthology of xmas stories called tales of christmas.. i wrote a story about my first xmas after leaving the dubs.

the book is being published.

Holy Buckets!!!! I can't think of anything more exciting. Congrats Lady. I was thrilled when the local paper published my letter to the editor!!! Of course they publish them all but I did not let that diminish my joy. I can't imagine how great it would be to be published for real!!!

Beautifully said Met and so very true. Not long ago I posted about the death and funeral of a witness youth. How his parents had been such dear friends (or so I thought). At the funeral there was exactly one witness family in attendance because this young man with so much to offer the world had been disfellowshipped.

I wrote the family a letter because they had not seen me in many years and expressed curiosity about how my kids were. My letter was one of heartfelt sympathy and condolences and a brief story about what has gone on in my life and the lives of each of my kids. I stayed strictly away from "spiritual" matters.

This family knew what my ex had done and how it had devastated me. I wrote about my new husband and what a loving and honorable man he is and how grateful I am to be "loved at last". They actually wrote back. But their letter was condescending and they mentioned that they were pleased to hear that I had "found some measure of happiness in this old system". The letter was replete with references to the devil and how he is running this old system. Blah Blah Blah.

Anyoldhow, the idea was that my happiness can only come in "some measure", because this old system is demonic and evil and nothing good can really come of it.

Here is my thought. How can this system be the old one when there is no new one to replace it. And as you so beautifully expressed there are many good people and happenings for which to be truly grateful and appreciative. But these people are so very convinced that there is nothing but evil that they will not see that there is so much good. The WT is telling them that the grass is purple and they will not even make the effort to go to the window and see that it is green. Makes me sick.

Any step-parents here??

Hey Jessica, glad to help. I really did learn this stuff the most difficult way possible. Also my kids have a step mom and as a Mom it is way hard to have another woman in their lives. Brings out the claws and fangs. But she tried to take over. Instead of being a friend and asset to the kids she became their enemy. Her attempts to put me down in order to make herself look better completely alienated the kids. They were young when she came into their lives and now they are all grown and want nothing to do with her. Sad really. I will PM my phone number, maybe we can talk in person.

to be honest, i feel like i barely qualify as an ex-dub.

wasn't raised in it, no relatives in it, and aside from my first one or two years of being involved with it, i didn't believe much of it.

but at the point where i first started having doubts creep in, instead of investigating those doubts, i turned off my brain.

Hey Dantheman, I know how you feel. Sometimes I feel completely snubbed here. But I think I count anyway and so do you. When I post it gets buried 3 pages back in about 5 minutes, but I post anyway because I just want to and I have learned not to worry too much about what people think. Sometimes I wonder if I piss people off and then I think, No you would have to be noticed first to be able to piss anyone off. Lately I am wondering if I belong here anymore. I dunno, maybe its just my mood, I have had a lot of really stressful stuff going on lately and here I am hogging your post with my own unimportant random thoughts & reflections.

You should have called it IMPORTANT random thoughts and reflections anyway, because what you think and feel IS important. So there!
