  Does anyone have .....

  ...a portable washing machine?

  and if you do, is it quiet and does it do a good job?.

  i sold my house and moved into a condo almost 2 years ago.

  ok my cousin was living in an apartment without hookups....... and his wife said they were spending massive amounts of money on laundry....... so she talked him into buying a washer dryer combo......... and it was just that. you put the clothes in and the detergent....... hooked it up to your kitchen faucet and then turned the faucet on........ it filled up the washer and when it was done washing it emptyed itself into the sink...... and started spin drying the clothes.......... problem was that bee stard cost them almost 1000 and it only got the clothes MOSTLY dry...... you still needed to hang them up and let them air dry or go to the laundry and put em through a dry cycle...... apparently you could dry two or more loads with one drying cycle in a normal dryer..... but was still damp comeing out of their unit.

  they moved.......... tried to sell it to me.............. i passed......... somehow i prefer my underware to be dry. go figure

  am i right in thinking that jws can lie under certain crcumstances ?

  can anyone quote me any literarature on lying being alright , does it not matter about lying to worldlys as they are considered evil anyway .

  when i used to study i remember hearing many times "i cannot tell a lie ,i am a jehovahs witness "( this was usually said by people who everyone knew told lies ) when i hear jw talk now about how marvelous they are it makes me want to vomit .

  there was something more recent in the watchtower study article( by recent i mean in the late 90s to early 00s) where it said the same thing over about they could lie under oath if the person didnt deserve to know the truth........ so yeah they will 100% lie to you.

  that jesus coming in his kingdom was in about 31 or 32 ce when jesus got transfigured.

  - this was during the weekly bible reading part... lol (the society actually says that about when jesus told the disciples that some of them would see him coming in his kingdom before they died...).

  Science fiction book suggestions...

  i love science fiction books and have run into a dry spell.

  i have read alot of david weber but he has been quite slow with new books lately...anyone have any good suggestions for a good read...i need 5 star authors with "blow your socks off" books...any suggestions...

  im strictly sci fi and fantasy................ my favorite author of all time in the fantasy genre is MickeyZuckerReichert more specificly her renshi series is without equal and her nightfall series is quite good as well. norse mythology and swords.......... how can you get better than that.

  If the end does not come in 10 years then...........

  if the end does not come in 10 years then nothing is going to change.

  here is my reasoning.. in our hall we have friends whose grandparents thought the end was coming in 1914 then in 1925.. well they died and still our friends believe the end is near.

  SPOKE AT A CHURCH LAST NIGHT.......

  the topic: jehovah's witnesses, harmless religion?

  there were a small group of ex's that had been invited by a local church to speak of their experiences as jehovah's witnesses..............god it felt sooo good to tell about the unbiblical practices of shunning and disfellowshipping, of the cult mentality and the wounds so many ex's carry from the legalistic mentality and behavior.

  the two books crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom were shared with all present..........about 30 to 40 people.

  sunny thats AWESOME............

  a couple years ago as we were leaving church....... we saw a booth set up. this in and of itself wasnt unusual..... every week they have another booth set up for helping a differnt bunch of people. food for homeless or toys for orphans, various missionary trips to third world countrys.... etc. this week tho it was different.... the sign said........ JEHOVAHS WITNESSES......... and my wife stopped and i grabbed her arm and kept walking...... when we got out of that hall i was like WTH....... so she got all curious and looked up what ministry that could be......... it was for christians....... telling them how to deal with jehovahs witnesses........ and helping those who agreed to study with witnesses to understand what they were getting into...... also to help THE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES who now attended that church............

  so you guessed it..... next sunday there the man was again......... so three hours later............. we finished talking to the brother who was running it. he was a witness who was dfed 14 yrs ago and who started studying the bible on his own. so he had meetings for US and the 30-40 people who used to be jws and meetings to help others understand what jws were about.

  so we got asked to speak at a couple of those........ and we did. same response...... looks of disbelief and shock and then sympathy and welcome. they of course didnt have a clue what jws were before and they knew for sure afterwards. ....................... a couple of weeks later..... this church totally rocks yall...... it has its own diner....... fabulos place. so me and the wife were eating there before a service......... about and hour and a half before............ so to pass the time we pulled out a deck of cards and i was proceeding to beat her at gin......... mercilessly........... and the waiter walked by and paused....... looked at both of us.........

  now i was completely expecting a fanatical christain who was gonna chastise us for playing cards in their near empty cafe...... instead he says................. NOW WHAT WOULD THE WATCHTOWER SOCIETY THINK OF YOU PLAYING CARDS IN PUBLIC.................. lol

  i looked shocked and was like............ do we know you............ um............. yeah he was at one of those meetings and we all cracked up. i guess i had that deer in the headlights look lol.

  lot of fun to be had at churches telling them the TRUTH about the society.............. congrats again

  hi everyone, hope all is well.

  i've been reading and posting here for a little while about my situation.

  well it has just reached another high point.

  well if you can find a place to live with friends...... probably that place will be in another congregations territory....... but even if its not... you dont have to give the elders your address when you swap halls..... you just have to have your current halls info..... the presideing overseers phone number or something. you talk to an elder in the new hall you have selected and tell them you are gonna be going to their hall and give him the elders info and he will make the call and get your cards and info sent to him. then i would attend a while then move to a different congregation......... meaning attend enough to get that elder to send for your publisher card and then quit all together. wouldnt give them a phone number or an address.

  fact is you can swap any congs at any time....... the elders will forward any info they have on you. any jc they had with you etc..... but they cant MAKE you go to a certain hall........... they can not allow you privledges ... lol but thats really a blessing isnt it.

  Are KH library's becoming extinct?

  the kh i visited had just a few newer books ( none before about 1980, it appeared) and a handful of assorted bound volumes- on the shelf was a stack of what looked like "copies" of the wt cd of books and magazines.

  is this common a kh's today?

  it was a pretty new kh, 3 congs used it.

  my old hall had publications stretching all the way back to the 1800s and had all the bound volumes from the early 1900s to date........ but no one ever used any of them unless they were working up a talk at the last minute and knew where to look. the library at the hall is totally useless.......... to jws that is. if i could get my hands on those books i could prove EVERYTHING lol.
