... and confess to them that you have being willfully going against the directions of the faithful and discrete slave by visiting evil apostate websites like this.. perhaps they will lovingly extend to you discipline that can yield peaceable fruit.. .

honestly, do you think that jw's really like going to 3 or 4 day assemblies, especially when it's out of town, far away, and you have to take a motel room, and all the gas money and food money it takes, as well as having to sit down all day listening to endless talks...and that for 3 or 4 days in a row.. and often, they have to take a day off from work, to attend the friday meeting, so no pay for that day.. i think that the jw's are glad when it's finally over, not before.. .
Gosh, I feel bad for the people that have to go to these assemblies, outside, or places where there isn't enough air conditioning. Our assemblies were always in town, (guess we were lucky, if you could call it that, we still had to sit through 3-4 days of torture), and they were always in an over-air conditioned arena. I used to have to bring a sweater, even in the summer, it would get so cold.
Guess when I was smaller, we got excited before an assembly. We knew kids from other halls, so we would want to see our friends. We got to buy new clothes. But I guess once the first few hours wore off, it was pretty boring. Then when I was a teenager, there was the whole checking out cute boys thing. But once I got older, no I absolutely dreaded the long assemblies.
Glad that chapter in my life is over.
my son matt at felger park in chicago this afternoon.
so, happy and carefree with not a care in the world...it's so educational to see things through his eyes once in a while, to re-connect with innocence....there's no drug like it in the world :)
ahh... little people! LOVE this picture!
the stuff on the news is fascinating me, so i just had to start a thread about it.. yesterday i saw online at the guardian that tom cruise had hired some sort of cult bodyguard (tongue in cheek) to accompany his new girlfriend (katie holmes, an actress) around to continue her inculcation into scientology.
they are allegedly saying they're best friends now, though they met very recently.. i'm now reading the 6/17 issue of entertainment weekly magazine.
it says:he had a scientology massage tent on the set of his newest movie (his retort is he had a capuccino tent too)he compares psychiatry to nazis and claims jung (famous psychiatrist) was editor for nazi papers (a claim a jungian group denies)he says methadone was named after hitler (also refuted by the magazine)he slams brooke shields for using anti-depressants
Tom knows absolutely nothing..until he pisses a soft ball out of his pee hole then he can say something about pregnancy
LOL and Exactly! That's what gets me about the statement he made about Brooke Shields. He has absolutely no idea the hell she went through, and has no business criticizing something he doesn't understand, all in the name of religious beliefs, (sound familiar?)
this is why reporting is so important.
these guys just don't stop.
see, the silentlambs say they may have evidence on 27,000 pedophiles at bethel.
In 1984, the Idaho Supreme Court upheld a 1978 conviction for molesting two 14-year-old boys and characterized Schwartzmiller as a "repeat offender"
Then what was the S.O.B. doing out on the streets at all.
Those poor, poor children.

he slams Brooke Shields for using anti-depressants
I heard Brooke got him back. She told him she was going to give him two free tickets, for Tom and Katie, to the play she is starring in. One adult ticket, one child.
I read a long article about Brookes very serious bout with post partum depression. She was very very sick with it, she suffered alot, poor thing. She was pretty brave to come out in the open with it.
medical
addiction
n. habitual psychological and physiological dependence on a substance or practice beyond one's voluntary control.
Although I have no habitual need to return, or dependence, I would still refer to myself as a recovering JW. I am recovering from all the hurt and psychological/emotional damage.
that's on their website....do you believe this?
I'm not surprised, I believe it. Ironic though, that the watchtower would print this, being that they are so against seeing psychiatrists, counselors, etc...
the united way realized that it had never received a donation from the city's most successful businessman who is a jehovahs witness.
so a united way volunteer paid the jw businessman a visit in his lavish office.. the volunteer opened the meeting by saying, "our research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you don't give a penny to charity.
wouldn't you like to give something back to your community through the united way?".
Good one! Funny!
i was working.
i travel around in my work.
today i was in a mall.. a lovely young woman approached me, looked me in the eye and said she wanted to leave me with something...as she handed me a tract.. i looked at it searching for evidence it was jw.
Dont kick yourself, it happens to the best of us. I always prepare myself for what I might say, then it seems like when the real thing is staring you right in the eyes, you go blank. I was getting prepared for something I might say to witnesses that happened to be working my street a couple of weeks ago, but they never did come to my house. I am not even sure I could have followed through, I'm too mushy with people. But still, you at least did make an impression on her...
