  i was disfellowshipped many years ago, then went through 7 years of not even thinking about jws.

  previously, i was content to go my own way and allow my erstwhile brothers and sisters go theirs.

  after all, if i am honest, i am equally delighted to be able to ignore/shun those myopic, sanctimonious little turds, as they are to ignore/shun me!.

  however, having read many of your posts, i'm downright bloody livid, not neccessarily with the aforementioned "myopic, sanctimonious little turds", but those grumpy, stubborn, conniving deceitful old gits in brooklyn who have created this society of "myopic, sanctimonious little turds"!.

  Hi Jonty...How's the weather in China?

  Only a scandal with as much exposure as the Catholic church scandal will rock them.....drop them to their knees so to speak..

  But given time they will recover, look at their past history......mankind in general seems to want direction and answers no matter what the cost to freedom .

  Undergoing Hypnosis

  having thought about it a few times and talked to another member here when i first joined, i think i would like to be hypnotised and asked some questions about things, life, previous life, early memories, repressed memories and a whole bunch of other stuff.

  have any of you ever undergone this procedure or know anything about it, would you do it?

  DH....The Wellness Journey is an excellent book probably available at the Library...it's written by a Hypnotist and takes alot of the myths out of it and also gives tips on self hypnosis for relaxation...I use some of the techniques every once and awhile.

  it is the wild beast and 666 on the cover.. i'm curious to know what some of your thoughts are on the article.

  Sandy this is the only comment I made to the elders about that WT

  the April 1 st WT dealing with 666. They say here that some have had fanciful and contrived ideas in the past that 666 was the Roman Papacy or a Roman emperor. The truth is those fanciful ideas were in fact ours. If you read the Finished Mystery you would know that.

  most of the so-called "good examples" that i knew of lived a "double life".

  were you one of those that acted pious at the hall but elsewhere, behaved as someone not a witness?

  So what exactly IS an apostate?

  i was under the impression that an apostate was anyone who left the witnesses, was df'ed/da'ed, or was just actively opposed to them.

  but i was reading in my hubby's old "reasoning book" that an apostate is one who professes to believe in christ (but not the jws), claims to serve god (but is not a jw), tries to pull away current jws or attack them.

  so, by that definition, would someone who fades away and professes no religion still be considered an apostate if he or she didn't try to take anyone with them and did not attack the religion?.

  From what I can tell...there are approximately 6 million active apostates who reject their former beliefs laid out by the fathful and discreet slave C.T Russell..wait I mean J.F Rutherford....wait I mean Homer Simpson...

  An apostate is a word they use to label dissenters....but it is just a label.

  reading through some of the recent posts, ie; the topic of lazarus and the gay issue, i was flabbergasted at what i was reading.

  i can't believe-well maybe i can, that some people on this site are calling gay people "faggots", and telling that person that they are going to get "what sodom and gomorrah got".. this site has been a godsend to me, and have been telling my friends how nice it is to be in with a group of people who can relate to my life, my feelings, my insecurities, and my fears relating to the org.

  and not being a part of it anymore.

  It's tough to let stupid remarks roll off of you sometimes ohiocowboy but if there's one thing I learned over the last few years it's this...and this has nothing to do with Gumby or Valis...

  You can't change stupid so you just have to learn to deal with it or avoid it if neccesary. Prejudice was instilled into dubs from the time they were old enough to talk, especially in regards to gay men, women and apostates as well.

  Don't worry about the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, a natural phenomenon destroyed those people and the ancient goat herders attributed it to God.

  Farkel V Minimus - Lets talk

  just recently the forum has seen some posts relating to these two prominent members of the forum.

  we have the thread about farkel being a genius, and the thread where farkel and minimus have a bit of a "shebang" (that's nw england talk - excuse me).. the thing is, i honestly think that both of these people are becoming a little bit too enthralled with their own importance.. farkel's "concerned about minimus" thread was a deliberate jibe at minimus, and minimus clearly is p**sed off with farkel's comments.. overall i think that farkel has outstanding talent and intelligence, however he is harsh and obviously has some personal problems (as do i, and many of us).

  minimus is a great contributor to the forum, but he appears shallow and sycophantic.. lets get the whole issue out of the way.
