I have a sneaking suspicion we missed the meetup today... oh well, maybe the next one, send me a PM if you and the wifey are going to make it there. Mr. Odrade and I are great! Trying to plan some remodelling. (ugh and Yay! at the same time.) Also we are getting a new puppy. (more YAY!)
Funny about the ousting, it's about time that happened...strange too about the Brit, seems like they have a little more commonsense, but obviously she's a little off her froot-loop if she's pulling that nonsense. Thing is, there was a KM about 4 years ago that really caused a bunch of families to take a hard-line against their non-JW or ex-JW children. Maybe that is her reasoning? I don't think there has been a retraction since, and the latest "When a loved one leaves Jehovah" magazine I'm sure didn't help much.
Maybe she expects that he should "know better" by osmosis? As in, she's a JW so he should be too? Who knows what they think anymore... -

Ah, Glen... why bother. She's probably following the advice of some tall, "dignified" pompous windbag of a substitue C.O. (starts with "K", rhymes with "hurt,") and nothing her worldly husband could show her in a WT book could ever compete with the direct counsel of such a fine, upstanding man of god. *cough*cough*

Sorry to hear it Jim. Make sure and get to the massage therapist, your PIP will cover it, and it will help your recovery. If you're still in the area, I can recommend someone on your end of the valley, PM me.

I HAVE TO VENT, A GB MEMBER FLYING TO GET SPECIAL MED TREATMENT
by restrangled ini am so angry right now.
my father worked his butt off for years at his job and for the wbts.. in the 60's he was a painter and use to bathe in benzine to clean him self off.
this was before anyone new this was a cancer causing chemical.. he worked for years at assemblys, and as an elder etc.. he realized the foolishness of 1975 and started saving big time leaving my mother a nice savings account plus a huge retirement fund.. he developed kidney cancer at age 60 due to the benzine and survived.

Hire a lawyer and contest the will on grounds of mental instability. $200K? Unbelievable. Sounds like something my mother would do.

My mother watched this happen from the first plane coming in. Her desk faced out the window looking out directly over lower Manhattan. She stood up to watch the plane because she thought there might be a movie filming to have a plane fly in so low and so close. She saw the whole thing from that window in the Watchtower's Factory building.
She called me hysterical and said "there are people jumping out of the windows!"
We were almost inactive when the WTC was attacked. We became active again, but it was shortlived. Everything was so shaken up in our lives that the petty squabbles, prejudices and archaic fundamentalist attitudes became increasingly intolerable. It seemed we were no better than the jihadists who wanted to wipe all but themselves from the face of the planet. They just called their god Allah, while we said Jehovah.
I think about my mother's fanaticism, and how she is so eagerly awaiting Armageddon, then I think about her pain and terror for the people falling out of windows while their offices burned behind them. I wonder how this woman who vomited from empathy, for the worldly people working in the World Trade Center, thinks that she will be okay with the death, dismemberment and burning of 6 billion people at the hand of her God.

Wikipedia being abused by Jehovahs Witnesses
by Simon ini had a look at the wikipedia entry for jehovahs witnesses yesterday and noticed that it wasn't as comprehensive as it once was.. most links to non-pro-jw sites have gone as is anything truly critical or exposing of their beliefs and practices.. last night i added a link to this site to the "other sources" section.
this morning it is gone.. i wonder whether this is some private zealot who has decided to do it or an organised campaign?.

Mostly denim pants/capris and black t-shirts. Short sleeves in summer, long in winter. I occasionally trade out with yoga pants, and have been known to wear other non-denim jeans on occasion. I last wore a dress for a wedding, but it was probably not very KH appropriate. Other than VERY special occasions, I avoid things that would require wearing dresses or even dress pants and dress shoes. A nice shirt I can handle. It seems to be the biggest visceral reaction I have developed after leaving the Dubs, I HATE jwish dress clothes, actually get a knot in my stomach if I have to put on pantyhose.
At the moment, I am wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt. Fortunately, I can wear the same type of clothing for work.
