why are jws so afraid of apostates?
their view of apostates seems to be out of the realm of the ordinary, the natural.
its as if the words of apostates are supernatual or spiritistic as if apostates are some kind of jedi knights who can slightly wave their hands or twitch their eyes and bring one under a spell.

She now uses the internet, but previously would turn her face away if I tried to show her something to back up a point I was making.

i'm researching 587 vs 607 for the date of the destruction of jerusalem... i'm not doing the research to prove or disprove anything about 1914, rather i'm looking at these dates in comparison to 1948 & 1967.. what is your view on relying on the cyrus cylinder, to accept 607 as the correct date of destruction... i know that there are many other factors.. but i'm trying to keep this portion of my research as simple as possible, so i'm primarily interested in the appropriateness of using the cylinders date of 537 + 70 = 607. one other question.. is it likely that both dates 587 & 607 have their own significance?.

Yes!! I'm with Cofty on this one a plague on society, yet I would never condemn any Christian to hellfire on the contrary I would always treat them with respect albeit that I fundementaly disagree with their beliefs. How abhorrent to even consider someone being tortured in hellfire for ever, and what arrogant ignorance!!

Hi snare;..good point re addictive personality, now that is very worthy of research. I don't know how much this is or has been researched as to why ssome become addicted.
I think the golden rule is if in doubt leave it out.
A clear head must lead to understanding the whys and wherefores of life better, and of course better repercussions for loved ones and society in ganeral.

R, i would be able to mi would beDid this post not start by asking about curiosity ? Now its morphed into scientific study .
I have no truck with serious research into drug applications for aiding medical conditions in controlled circumstances
It seems some posting here are just tripping, hardly scientific.
If I'm having a piece of cake with a cup of coffee and an emergency arises eg someone needs immediate medical treatment I would be able to drive them to hospital.
With a brain trippin' on drugs that would be impossible or at best possibly dangerous.
Better to maintain a clear head. Same applies to alcohol abuse.
Keep drug experimentation in the lab.
