  Getting your house JUST RIGHT....

  when i bought my house a year ago, i still had the mortage to my other home.

  Hey guys,
  
  Just wanted to sound out to all those out there that KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
  
  When I bought my house a year ago, I still had the mortage to my other home.
  
  So I was carrying two mortages until I sold my other place about 3 months ago.
  
  So now that I don't have to care for two places, I've been able to work on my current home.
  
  Anyway, I'm about 75 percent there, but my home is starting to come together.
  
  This week, I'm putting in a wet bar in. And I got all the rooms EXACTLY like I want it.
  
  My home theatre is kicking and the wet bar will complete my "cigar room," a place similar to a home library - but you can get wasted in it.
  
  I guess my point is, it's a GREAT feeling to get your house (at least almost) to where you want it.
  
  Anyone else out there???

  Why do some here refer to themselves as "Apostates"?

  the only real definition of apostate i ever had was from being raised a witness.

  so, i have this idea that it is an evil, wicked thing.

  because of that i dont like to call myself an apostate.

  The thing about this is, if your a active dub and you didn't grow up in the "truth."
  
  Then you're an apostate from another religion.

  my husband and i had a committee meeting because of underage drinking.

  when he was being counseled, the p.o.

  told my husband that he needed to make me wear different clothes to the meeting because it made some of the brothers unable to concentrate.

  Using a stamp with an American Flag on it.
  
  I said, "Well, what about money??? It ALSO has an American Flag on it."
  
  I was told, "Well, THERE you have a choice."
  
  But not really.
  
  There are some coins that don't have a flag on it.
  
  So technically, you could stop using money and use only coins...

  i quit jw not too long ago.

  and i have a question.

  what are you're xperiences with getting in the 'normal' live with doing birthday's etc?

  My family is very helpful to me.
  
  I've been a dub for 15 years and just now started celebrating birthdays, etc.
  
  The other day, it was my mom's birthday.
  
  My dad calls me up, and said, "Did you forget your mom's birthday."
  
  I told him yes. Then he says, call up your mom.
  
  So... Here I was, hanging up with my dad who called me on the cell phone.
  
  I call my mom on the home phone 2 seconds later. And my dad answers "OH!!! HELLO!!!"
  
  Making it seem like I just called.
  
  It was pretty funny.

  Swearing on the platform

  did you every hear anyone say something really dodgy from the platform when giving a talk?

  i heard a couple of stories of people getting really enthusiastic when giving a talk or pray accidently swearing.

  one time in my book study group a sister called someone a dickhead in her answer, it was very hard not to laught.

  Personally I never have.
  
  But it was one of my greatest fears. Me doing it, that is.
  
  Actually, now that I think about it.
  
  I once heard the C.O. say Shit and he recovered really fast. Kind of said shoot instead.
  
  It was during a meeting for field service that he said it.
