Pioneer Encouragement - "You can sit in the back room"
by 4thgen inlast night one of the pioneers stopped by on her way home from the pioneer meeting.
she has always been very kind and i believe she is acted out of concern, however her visit was unsettling.
she mentioned that all the pioneers were counseled to invite everyone they know inactive or those who has had life has got them down to come to (a special?

Also the elders won't have to invite you to 'step in the back for a short discussion' if you are already there! How convenient!

If God cared about clothing, he wouldn't have created Adam and Eve naked.

Oh I forgot this part...she commented how nice my son is and how he has grown. I mentioned that we have been discussing Jesus' command to "love your neighbor as yourself" I explained that he has been involved with me in charity work and how he is growing into a very caring young man. The comment threw her off....I could tell that I was speaking a foreign language to her.

Last night one of the pioneers stopped by on her way home from the Pioneer Meeting. She has always been very kind and I believe she is acted out of concern, however her visit was unsettling. She mentioned that all the pioneers were counseled to invite everyone they know “inactive or those who has had life has got them down” to come to (a special?) a meeting. “You know Satan has been so busy. It doesn’t seem to be physical lately, but all mental issues. Many of the friends are having so much anxiety and depression it is unbelievable”
Then she said, “We have made arrangements for those inactive ones that don’t want to dress up to sit in the back room. They don’t have to worry about getting dressed or even talking to anyone. You know, you can just walk in and sit down and no one would bother you. “
She asked how I was and said as usual, “Terrific, very happy.” I asked how she was (she deals with depression) she hedged and said "I’ve been doing fine” Evidently she wasn’t going to confide in me, so I changed the subject.
Yes, she is as nice as she can be, so I don’t believe that she actually knew how it sounded. I can sit in the back room if not dressed properly? There would be no conversation? All the friends are having mental problems….well, duh!
The thought ran through my head to yell “Cult!”, but I thought better of it. It probably would have frightened her and scared the neighbors. So, I just kept thinking as she rattled on “That used to be me!....I am so over this.”

Were you 'alive in '75' and how was that year for you?
by punkofnice ini was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.
i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.
how dare god disobey the jw leader!!!!!.

Anticlimactic. I remember thinking that if they were wrong about 1975, maybe the generation teaching was wrong, too. I calculated in my head how long I would give the 'generation'. I thought that if it wasn't going to come, possibly around 2010, they would probably back track on the generation teaching. I also thought about my later years of life and how I would probably be in crisis if the end didn't come. I've never been so disappointed in being right in my life!

ugh...now I'm getting mad
by Angus Beef inventing.... hubby visited with sil (with gotee intact), got the wt don't approve speech and the 'we've been missing you at the meetings".. he gave all the excuses he could for why we weren't there.
i'm at the point of just telling them the truth as why... but we will be giving up our grandchildren.
i just don't know if i can do it, give up the grandkids.

So sorry. Unfortunately, they have the power to make trouble for you with your grandkids. If you are seperated from contact with them, how can you teach them TTATT?
I'm in a similar situation and it is so hard to hold it in sometimes. Take your power back. You be in control of what you want to tell them and how much...IF you feel they deserve to hear your private thoughts. Theocratic warfare in reverse. Think:"Pearls before swine...." Best to you....

Thank you for all your wonderful comments. It is nice to get others thoughts with this. It got me to thinking since he's only with me every other weekend, it is not practical for the organized sports. I will consider to encourage him with after school activies as he is interested and continue to encourage independent thinking. Right now he has shifted into being interested in science. That will keep him occupied for a while. Also, thank you for your validating comments on being a single parent. It meant more than you know.
jgnat, you have a PM
KiddingMe I wish his father was reasonable, but he is not. He's still in and active, even with the child abuse and driniking, very little has been done to him. It's the good ole boye club...He believes that education and sports are evil....Must follow the slave....

Since Great Crowd has no mediator
by sosoconfused ini am thinking that maybe i missed this discussion or something.
now for years in the org i never ever paid attention to the article that says jesus is the mediator for the 144000 alone.
yesterday talking to my 70+ year old dad he got violently angry with me and threw his cane at me because he said i was a liar.. .
