I'm no bible scholar but perhaps:

The domination over the "sons of man" relate to dominating other cultures that had dealings with God's people. This could make sense since the world powers are understood to be only the world powers that had connection with Israel.

    Just a thought.

That's an idea that you heard from the WTS, and it's not true.

    Jean,

Did you notice that when I threatened to have Gummy for supper he jumped on his little stick-horse and got the hell outta here, and hasn't showed back up? Just goes to show that Gummy ain't half as tuff as he lets on to be.

This is the dream, and its interpretation we shall say before the king. 37 You, O king [of Babylon], the king of kings, you to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the might, and the strength and the dignity,

I just wanna say that any god who gives his enemy power, might, strength, and dignity...is a dipshit!

Hey Schizm, did the Roman policemen arrest criminals in Hawaii too in the 1st century?

There were certainly limits to the Roman empire they only conquered a relatively small part of the entire world, they didn't conquer the Germans, Persians, Indians, Chinese etc, and yes they all had their civilisations and states at the time.

    Hey Schizm,

“This is what he said, ‘As for the fourth beast, there is a fourth kingdom [Rome] that will come to be on the earth, that will be different from all the [other] kingdoms; and it will devour all the [inhabited] earth and will trample it down and crush it. -- Daniel 7:23.

Firstly, most bible scholars interpret this fourth beast as Greece not Rome. Only end-time nutcase religions seem to interpret it as you do.

Secondly, what evidence do you have that bible 'world powers', including relatively small powers such as Babylon, ruled the entire inhabited earth? What we need is some secular evidence to back up your claims.

Surely the common factor is that all these powers had dealings with Israel from time to time.

I agree with gumby, mushrooms. Or is schizm suggesting that Asians are not fully "sons of man"?

How can a prophecy be taken as an accurate depiction of history? We know the great Chinese civilization and the Mayan etc. civilizations in the Americas were flourishing at times that the Isrealites had no awareness of their existence.

The quote from the WT mentions 15 provinces of the Roman Empire, and on next page shows a map with 15 areas mentioned, including Parthia,Elam and deepest Arabia, the first empire to conquer deepest arabia was Mohammed!

Do the WT writers know what they are saying/inferring?

According to who? You? The WTS? Some history book you've been reading? One thing for sure is that neither you nor I were there to witness it first hand. The Bible says that Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome, all exercised universal rule. Do you have a more reliable source that says otherwise? Why, of course you don't! If you really think you do, then spit it out. I'm all ears.
