EVEN CHINA WAS A ROMAN PROVINCE. -- badboy.

Better be careful there, badboy, some of the others here might not like you saying things that support my side of the argument.

Confirmed, gumby called it. Mushrooms. If I interpret the moments of clarity in your delusional fog, Schizm, I take it that you consider the Bible to the the exlusive, authoritative, historical text?

Why would we ignore any contemporary, historical inscriptions from other sources?

Schizm, this reminds me of a round-and-round session with Scholar on 607.

Because you've settled on one particular "absolute" meaning of a scripture, are you in fact denying that ancient Asian, pacific island, American, etc., civilizations even existed? Or that they in fact were all ruled by Rome?

Would standing on top of this convince you of anything?

We know the great Chinese civilization and the Mayan etc. civilizations in the Americas were flourishing at times that the Isrealites had no awareness of their existence.

If I recall, the American Idol singer William Hung is also of Chinese descent.

According to the texts above, there was a time during which Rome exercised universal rule. This would mean that Rome held jurisdiction over all peoples at that time.

Are you implying that no humans existed north of Hadrian's Wall, which marked the northern limit of the Roman Empire? If so, then please tell tell us why the wall was even built.

Perhaps it was just an example of pork-barrel politics ... probably an election year ... think of all the jobs it created for his constituents.

I've chosen to place my trust in that which I've come to believe was God-inspired. And when that book says "wherever the sons of mankind are dwelling" I take it to mean exactly that. To me, that spells out "universal rule". No matter WHERE people might have lived during the time that Rome ruled as 6th King (Re 17), they all were under the jurisdiction of Rome.

Hold on there, "wherever the sons of mankind are dwelling" referred to Nebuchadnezzar, not Rome.

Anyway, I'd like to know, in what way was China under Rome's sovereignty?

I once heard that John Wayne would not discuss Religion or Politics with a woman. Could be an urban legend, though.
