well, ive been off the thread for a couple days. i come back to find exactly what i had expected, more mindless drivel from yk. it now appears he is deeming this debate pointless.

At any rate, debating about what will, or will not occur, has no actual bearing on the future.
But as I say, there comes a time when it's pointless to debate whether the mountain is going to blow....
if its pointless to debate "when the mountain is going to blow"....why has yk been doing it for all these years? he has just discredited all of his own debates.....who looks the fool now?

interesting..... a man starts a bet, everyone accepts it, he claims victory on the bet, everyone argues against this victory, he then backtracks and says we will have to wait and see, everyone points out his backtracking, and finally he then deems the whole debate pointless. sound like a false prophet to anyone else? the bible speaks of false prophets like you yk......with all your scriptural knowledge, it appears youve overlooked these scriptures and how they directly apply to you.

. And, just because past events did not lead to the end of this system doesn't mean that the system is not going to end. And, just because Jehovah's Witnesses have been anticipating it for longer than any of us have been alive doesn't mean anything either.
i think this line was supposed to make light of all of yks past failed predictions. let me just say, as lame of an attempt as this was, it was still about time that he addressed this issue.

    YK-

on september 24th, i informed you that the market was extremely oversold, -17 to be exact, which was its most severe oversold level since 1987. you responded....

"OVERSOLD" is a term the brokers and analysts use anytime the stock market dips. You are merely parroting the standard line used by the hucksters who are always eager to persuade people not to sell.
remember? i then said that you were humiliating yourself by this statement, and i pointed out that "oversold" was actually a technical term thats used to identify and predict dips and rallies. you thought this was preposterous. you responded again......

How have I been humiliated? If the markets crash tomorrow after you pronounced them to be technically "oversold" would that mean that your science failed?
well, i guess the science didnt fail this time yk, youll have to wait for next time. no panic buying going on, just the normal rapid increase which almost ALWAYS follows a severly oversold market; again, just its cyclical nature. FYI, the day i deemed the market oversold, the dow had a low of 8242.32. todays high so far was 9074.31. in case your calculator is broken, thats an increase of 831.99 pts., or just over 10%. not a bad increase off of an oversold market, but it was predictable. the oversold levels are back to normal now, so i wouldnt guess that wed see too many more 300-400 pt. one-day gains for awhile, but anything can happen. in fact, a re-test of the september lows would actually be the best thing for the market from a technical standpoint, but you have no understanding of technical analysis, so i wont bore you with details. im not expecting a response at all from you on this one, really, what could you say to it? i just had to gloat a little. much more gloating to come when we reach november.

To be quite honest and visibly opportunistic, I am also taking advantage of the recent economic events in order to purchase a larger home.

Since rates have continued to decrease and I am no longer in any debt (other than monthly utilities and current mortgage) I stand to gain a much better bargain.

Once my purchase is locked, I won't be concerned about the daily rising and falling. In fact, I plan to purchase 1000 shares of NOVELL in the interim.

It is an unfortunate characteristic of "doomsday paranoia" sufferers to panic at the mere mention of any quasi-catastrophic event in the media.

In an effort to continue drawing parallels and allegories between "interpreted prophecy" and real-life events, they often become absorbed in minutiae.

Like a "thief in the night" means exactly what it says; like a thief in the night. If and when it would ever happen, the world would never know what hit it, including the fundamentalist religious fanatics, like JW's.

If God exists and is planning his intervention or waiting for the appointed time, we are all on our very own, indeed!

novell looks to have a little resistance around 4 dollars. if it can close above 4, it should run to 5 without much trouble. after that, theres major resistance from 5.50-5.70......i would think that area would be an ideal place to unload it. not that youre looking for advice on it, but i thought id check it out since you were sharing with us.

    Jdubla,

    I got a bunch of Cisco(csco) I bought at around $10 a share should I hang tight?

If someone lived a trillion X longer than you, and had a billion X more reasoning ability would he come to the same conclusions as you?

depends on what youre looking for dwilt. short term pop, or longer term growth? some great news out on csco yesterday that is pushing the stock much higher right now. if it closes above 14.59 today, it looks to have a great chance to run to 16, maybe even 18. youve already got a 50% gain in it though, and the hardest thing to do when your stock is rising is to sell it and capture that gain......if you want a short term pop, id sell it between its current price and 18. if youre willing to wait longer term, this one should be a $25+ stock again, but probably not until the economy comes around.
