If you don't agree, go think something else up... Last I checked, Silence didn't equal activism.

IN ADDITION, I RECOMMEND PRINTING THIS MONEY OUT AND LEAVING IT IN DONUT SHOPS, LAUNDROMATS, BATHROOMS WITH THE HEADER "HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED ABOUT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES?"

While doing this I recommend removing any of the JW literature that has likely been placed™ dumped there.

I got involved in several things, well organized, spent lots of money on mailings and travel to do more to get the word out. Very, very little result.

Please, elaborate on your footwork here. I'd be very interested to know exactly what you did that seemedt to yield very little results. What was it you mailed? Where did you travel that was part of your organized efforts? And dare I ask, how much money did your activism cost? Perhaps in sharing this info, we will know what didn't work and find what DOES work. No use in any of us wasting our time in something that yielded practically no results.

    Thank you.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but I just saw this.

A few years back, I was involved in a mass mailing campaign. I mailed hundreds of flyers (as I recall, they were part of the silent lambs thing) to KH's all over the US and Puerto Rico. I spent my own money on the stamps, paper, envelopes and even bought a new printer that would print envelopes en masse. Most of the mail (ab out 90%) came back to me since the addresses I was given were not PO Boxes, but the actual address, with no mail box. So that was a complete waste of my time and money.

The travel involved invitations I received to ex JW gatherings, that included people who were working on organizing more events and marches and mailings, etc., including Bill Bowen and some other names you would recognize but I am not going to name them. I met some interesting and wonderful people, as well as some seriously mentally ill people, with wild unbelievable stories.............I mean that exactly as it sounds. Their stories were NOT believable. I realized that they were just substituting being JW's with being ex JW's. They liked meetings, small conventions, and "field service". It just wasn't for me.

I wish everyone the best in their campaign today.

    Man protests Jehovah's Witness teachings

    By ROBERT MILLS, Sun Staff
WILMINGTON -- Rick Fearon stood outside the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall just off Main Street last night knowing a daughter who will no longer speak to him would soon be inside. That daughter, as well as several other family members, stopped speaking to Fearon a few years ago when he left the church and began speaking out about problems he sees in the Jehovah's Witness religion. A Jehovah's Witness for more than 40 years, Fearon now wants to inform people of accusations that the church does not adequately react to reports of sexual abuse of children, and charges the church's teachings on blood transfusions have needlessly killed Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide. "I attended this congregation and never realized the problems they had," he said. Fearon stood across the street from the Kingdom Hall with about a half-dozen others in the hopes they would make those new to the church look into it more deeply. Those inside the Kingdom Hall were observing The Memorial of Christ's Death, in which they celebrate the death of Jesus on the first full moon of the Vernal Equinox. Those new to the church or not yet part of it often attend the observance, Fearon said. Fearon cites national studies and news reports on a growing sexual-abuse crisis in the Jehovah's Witness religion, which he says has not done nearly enough to keep pedophiles away from children. He also says the churches previous ban on members getting blood transfusions, and other confusing teachings about accepting blood have led to what he said are thousands of unnecessary deaths. He was joined by John Harris, of Norwood, who was one of hundreds of clergy-abuse victims who sued the Archdiocese of Boston. Harris, who said he was abused by Father Paul Shanley, said he settled with the archdiocese in December of 2003. He said he is fighting all religions and cults in which abuse is not adequately responded to, and that he is pushing for federal laws to make it easier to prosecute and prevent abuse. A man who answered the telephone at the Kingdom Hall declined comment last night.
