D Dog, I not infering the existence or not of GOD. I am talking about the possiblity that God got the ball rolling in a way that He knew would end up with us. That His design included the evolutionary process. Is that beyond the capabilities of God? steve

LOL - who created the void and what is a void? ...and can something come from nothing? What is nothing?
- my head is about to explode.
(has anybody else noted how crap the emoticon selection is on this site?)

I had one those in my pants this morning
LDB: I had you in mind as one of those word-smiths. I defer to you and say that I mis-spoke. Only by the way that my eyes perceive existance is the sky what I term to be blue. And when I say blue, I mean blue compared to other objects that I perceive that I also describe as being blue. I would humbly opine that most people would also describe the sky as being some shade of blue (unless they are those pesky creationists).
Just for fun...also unless the sun is setting under certain conditions, in which case they would describe the sky as orange, or pink, or purple (but not green, for reasons explained by the laws of physics).
Which, BTW, proves that the sky is not a color, per se. The perception of sky color is all a matter of relative perspective, while I see a dusky purple sky, in California the sky still appears blue.
QED, the sky is never blue. My perspective and ability to perceive light often attributes blue to the sky, but color is not a property possessed by the sky.

Auldsoul, your mistaken. You are referring to color differation in the atmosphere. The sky is not the atmosphere. steve
stevenyc,
What is your reference on the sky not being the part of the atmosphere where Rayleigh scattering occurs? I understood it occurred in the upper atmosphere, which is why clouds block out our perception of the color of the sky.
Merriam-Webster holds that "sky" means upper-atmosphere.

Keep meditating, maybe you will get there.

Ah, you don't like the random part? At least the random turbulence gave you a laugh. Maybe it is that it is impossible for a void to maintain isotropy for infinity. Perhaps differentiation in the void was inevitable. Once it happened, it propagated and radiated outward, somewhat like the 'big bang'.

Auldsoul, I've checked and I can assure you that nowhere in the bible is atmosphere mentioned, only sky. And, what your scientific type of vocabulary is inferring goes beyond what is written. I can only assume that ..... OKAY, I was being facetious. steve
stevenyc,
Smilies, dude. Don't forget the smilies. You had me SERIOUSLY worried about you for a minute there.
