    Don't forget the Drammamine, sweetie!

Good for you. Glad you finally got back, I think some here were turning blue from the expectation.

Take care, and have fun with the new mommies. . .Shelly

Wow, good ON you!!! I wish you were one of my little brothers, they're clones.

And so, are you getting yourself a good education?

Wow, that worked out really fine SirNose! I like the way you test out things and continue from there. It shows that with the right words in proper doses much can be said without getting in trouble. Time will tell.

I believe there is a large number that aren’t happy with many of the wt policies, like shunning, education, blood, not going to authorities, celebrating birthdays, etc.. Few I remember speaking about this privately. Many are tired of the constant push to go out in FS and to be measured by this.

So hearing their "own" reasoning from the platform supported by scriptures and bible characters may make some seeds grow. My family usually discussed the program parts of the brothers on the drive home or the following day. So you never know, you might get some warm smiles on Sunday. The saying NOTHING to you speaks volumes.

IMO, the more speeches you can give, dropping some independent thinking here and there, the better it will be when they eventually move to d’f you or you one day DA yourself. Some will say they saw it coming, but others will start to question things. Because at a d’fing or DA the person is the number one topic for the next couple of weeks.

I think the way you are handling this and your strategy so far is fantastic.

But I will tell everyone this...it was of course, quite silent in the audience. I had rapt attention from everyone. How couldn't they? I talked about things they didn't know

I am so proud of you, SirNose. You put the proper tone to the talk. If they were silent, they were listening. It seems there's a little bit of wishful thinking on the part of the congregation, like there was in Richie's case. They so want the bright young men to lead the congregation, they barely notice that you've scorned their offer.

    Well done brave sir nose.

A very interesting reception id say. I guess they were stunned into silence. Next time I suggest you wear suspenders and stockings under your suit trousers. They wont know, but it might make your words seasoned with sauce! (plus I like thinking about the image - go on, do it for me!)

I guess its different in every congregation. My congregation most young ones got encouraged to continue on studying aftter highschool. Even the PO would say that, all his children went to college and graduated from college. I just don't see all this hoopla about jw's not going to college or studying after high school. I know of plenty who were attending college and some that are still attending college.

And even if they did mention it why would you listen and do as you were told? Don't we have minds of our own to make our own decisions? So what if they don't like it, they are not the ones who will have to support you the rest of your life. They can suggest all they want, but that doesn't mean I'll be doing as they suggest.

The silence is a sign that they were really listening - not zoning out like usual. But also they were probably a little stunned as this information is not the usual pre-digested junk food they are used too. Good job my friend! Lilly

If your talk is not 100% in line with the watchtower, the school overseer or the PO will have to make corrections (if possible) right after your talk.

Not true anymore. In principle, they would do this, but the school format in the last 4 years has not allowed for negative criticism of information in talks, plus the Bible Highlights is only assigned to qualified brothers (those qualified to teach). There is no time for correction of information given, the meeting must move on.

If presented correctly, the brothers will say absolutely nothing. If stated in a way that really goes against WTS opinions, then the School overseer or PO (along with another elder maybe) will simply have a talk with you. Be ready to show that the information showed how you were right. This will start to pull the mask down.

    R6,

I think you know jws are expected to do just as the society tells them to do or what not to do. Most jws try to do what the wts wants them to do, but the few that disagree with the policies will not advertise this from the platform. I have never heard a jw openly disagree about the dangers of higher studies during the wt study. Do they do that in your congregation?

Was your DC program different to all others? Why the constant reminders about the near end, the preaching work, meeting attendance, higher studies, independent thinking?

In what way are the young ones in your congregation encouraged to continue studying after high school? Definitely not through the pages of the wt. I am sure this encouragement does not come from the platform or conventions.
