Steam, if you're in your 80's I suppose you can't be expected to see anything different than what you've been putting in your head for many years. I guess I understand the desperation of the aged when it comes to holding on to some sort of hope. Impending death is there for all of us and I can understand your need to hang onto something. I'm glad it gives you peace. I just would hate to see any young people buy into the teachings of your 100+ year old cult teachings. For you, its no big deal. For them, they have their whole lives ahead of them. Here's the only pyramid that makes any sense.

I DID read all of the volumes. When I started to see the cracks in the Watchtower, I decided to go back to
the very beginning of Russell's Bible Students, and I'm grateful I did.
I hoped that if I could only get back to the time before the WT went "apostate," I'd be okay. Even considered
attending the BS convention in Fairfield, NJ. It was not to be. Russell was a quack, and I don't doubt the sincerity
of his followers, but they were mistaken then and 130 year's failed prophecies has proved this to me.

I went through the same thing you did. I too thought the WT still had the truth in some ways and that I could find out where the WT went apostate so I researched the org. right back to the beginning. I then found the bible students in CT and they gave me Russell's SIS books. They said Russell was the FDS and that the WT is the evil slave. Sound familiar? This is the same thing the WT teaches but the reverse and that BS are the "evil slave".
I then realized after reading these books cover to cover (which took me almost a year) and looking up all the bible verses cited in their context, that the WT was apostate from the very beginning. Starting from Russell and his occult teachings onward.
I don't doubt Russell was sincere but as you know, and I know, he had to twist the scriptures really badly to get the teachings he did. As well as pull verses out from all over the bible and try to connect them in a wierd way. I call it "bible hopscotch". By reading God's word in its context, there is no way you can come up with the strange things Russell did.
Thank God for giving us his word which is truth and Jesus Christ who is truth and both these opened my eyes and broke the chains that bound me to false religion. I see they had the same affect on you and for that I am glad.

You're lost Steam, and wrong. Jesus has already accepted you...the bible is very clear on this. Have you accepted him? What don't you undersand?
As for Russell, he was lunatic and a quack. His kind were a dime a dozen during the 1800's, starting with Miller and his Millerites, then followed by N. Barbour, so forth and so on. The JWs lieing and deceptive practices will eventually catch up with them. There is nothing to correct in my understanding. My way forward is very clear. Your way forward seems a bit muddled.
Your chronology was sort of nice (lot of neat numbers), so what? I could do the same thing, using a different "formula", and come up with predictions totallty different. Someone else, or some other organization, could do the same thing, and on, and on, and on.... Who's right? Who cares? You obviously do, but are certainly in the minority.
We don't know the hour nor the day Steam. Learn to deal with this and stop guessing.

A few years before my study of SIS, my "fleshly" sister took a college course where she learned about Russell.
She told me he was a Millerite, an Adventist, and used the pyramid to come up with 1914, the sacred date of our youth.
I completely shut her down! "See, that's worldly knowledge, all lies from opposers. What did we learn in the Kingdom Hall...
Jesus said we'd be persecuted. We have the TRUTH."
No sense arguing with good little Susie-knows-it-all smarty-pants.
We never discussed it again. She's an agnostic today. I owe her an apology!

Chuck Russell Fan Club, I liked that. OK I see that you people have found your new situation and anything I say is just useless. You have a right to believe as you want but you are saying some things which are not true. Russell was not a quack, was not into the occult and never used the Pyramid to come up with 1914.. 1914 was the result of the 2520 years from 607BC to 1914.
