    Dear Diary,

Looks like rain - wonder if I'll get to do my gardening job today. Try a bit more sleep, a cuppa cafe, then decide. In any event, the gallery fer sure. Gonna try to see about their website and what's on it. New student interview le dimanche [Sunday]. Think you should learn a bit o' francais, DD!

    Dear Diary,

I have been darting about for naught; my gardening job has been cancelled for reasons other than the rain. That is sufficient reason to cancel. I used to be gung-ho anything, rain or shine. Do you remember the old-wives' tale? YOU'LL CATCH YOUR DEATH! Well, that was proven untrue, that just getting wet wouldn't land you in bed with pneumonia. Be that as it may, getting wet rarely benefited me. Often I did become ill after a good and sound drenching. Maybe those old wives do have something going for them after all! I dunno.
A wonderful day to all. I may return to darken your pages, DD.

    Dear Diary,

Hoping that those in the tropics are getting some rainy relief, we here in NoCal surely are. No moisture in January as I recall. Catch-up. We'll be OK but I worry that my SoCal friends will have insufficient H2O for their diverse water features - there I go again! Always in a state over the concerns of my fellowman! Humbug!

    Dear Diary,

Back from the gallery and a very good day, all in all. Owner was pleased with news about my art and is going to include images on his web-page - next update! He's been nothing but kind, helpful and generous. Talked to several customers and a friend who dropped by; all conversations were encouraging and heart-warming. SALES??????
Still raining - actually, more like a piddle. Love to hear rain on the roof. "Rain on the Roof" is a song I teach the kiddies from TEACHING LITTLE FINGERS TO PLAY [JT].

MINIMUS, our benefactor [well, sorta: thanx to Simon]: If we can bring a little joy into your otherwise humdrum life, then that makes us very happy!

    Dear Diary,

Just checking in with you after a long nap. Strange happenings during my absence. Was reading sixscreens of the wt b4 sleep. Unusual site with very updated info damaging to So. Have read this info elsewhere, mostly in books I own, but never before on the net.
Then I come back here and see some sot of "run" on the entire block o' threads. I dunno. Deletions.
Don't know what to make of it. Be back...........

    Dear Diary,

First order of the day - thank you, Lady Lee, for your magic "poof! - disappear" buttons. I couldn't quite understand the sudden interest in old 'mus' threads. Not everyone claiming to be a friendly one truly is.
Having spam and egg-on-the-face for b'fast. Or, maybe, PB and pancakes. I'll eschew the syrup. Actually, syrup requires no teeth.

    Dear Diary,

Have returned from interview with prospective student. Demonstrated my method: scales, chords, proper technique, lyricism, improvisation, etc. Played from POTO, Chopin, Beethoven, and demonstrated how to turn the simplest of exercises into beautiful music.
There's need for structure and discipline - of course! - but not so rigid that the student feels he has no voice in the direction we go, musically speaking. Looks very promising. I was asked if it were possible to have more than one lesson per week....
Oh, gee, I don't know about that!!!!!!!!!

    Dear Diary,

New modem set-up for PC somehow causes entire system to work so much smoother and more quickly. Dunno why. Tech support had me click on to a 3rd modem option that was available. The original numeric configuration [pretty obvious I don't know the terminology] was no longer viable so we had to go to a new setting. All this because AT&T changed access codes. Whatever.
Beautiful-after-the-storm breezy day with clouds scudding by, taking hardly a moment to glance indifferently downward, waving an altitudinous hello, then streaming imperiously on to another tempest.
Finished trimming up some very old junipers that I rendered Carmel-by-the-sea cypress style. Planted remainder of pansies and johnny-jump-ups and swept and washed deck. May catch a bit of AA, but I don't know. I cannot bear to see the sad faces of those who lose. Besides, I hate noise and confusion. Leaving the KH was such a blessed relief. I can jabber with the noisiest of the chatter-boxes, but now it would seem I am less and less in control of external situations. Assemblies and conventions were intolerable to the maximum degree.
If I were 6' 4", and could see over the crowds, well, then - maybe. When I grow up, I will draw myself up to my full height and give Michael J. Fox a run for his money.

Coco, Its funny you refer to a dislike of too much noise and too many people. (I am assuming)

I developed this fear after my last few assemblies.....Too many people, too crowded, too uncomfortable.

I had to go sit out side in a Black dress in 100 degree plus heat for 3 hours on the last day for the last talk. ....

I have to have breathing room at all costs.

    r.
