Sooooo I can kind of agree where the people were coming from about the "war propaganda" suggestion. That closing speech "Free the world from mysticism and tyranny" - Hmmm!

Thanks for that Crumpet. Nathan & Richie really gave me a whoopin' on this one.

Just kidding guys. I can take you both. LOL!

That's not to say I didn't enjoy it.

    Ditto. The cinematography was exquisite.

I can see this film also getting a very big gay following!

LMAO! I thought the same exact thing.

    Peace sister,

I feel like a total hedonist for saying this - but I found it a bit irritating for the first half, I got used to it though!

yep...never has so much delicious man-flesh been given to so many. I enjoyed the movie for other reasons, but damn! It's hard not to be rendered speechless by the sight of those 300. I'm going to see it again tonight. ;) (and yes, I am a gamer-girl)

I wanted a nice Spartan helmet, but I didn't find any that were all that great, so I picked this one for my avatar.

    Yes, last week.

    I found it emotionally truthful.

It is hilarious that the SPARTANS are portrayed as all American Muscled Chick Balling Jocks.

Sparta did not allow males to marry before 30. They lived in barracks from an early age, if they wanted to ball a chick they had to sneak out of the dorms.

Homosexuality was encouraged, and sexualized male bonding was thought to enhance teamwork on the battlefield.

Well what with PC in the American Military...... Roll on the war with North Korea....

The whole darkness thing make me think that it was a coal mining town or one near by.

I found the "do one act of worship to me and all this will be yours" stuff kinda putrid.

    Perhaps for obvious reasons.

I finally saw it today. I'm not even sure how I would rate this movie. On the one hand, I was eagerly anticipating this film from several months ago when the first teasers started appearing. Yes, there was a lot of violence, but not on the scale of what I would consider shocking and make-me-wanna-hurl meter. I've seen several other real-life movies(not entirely digitally enhanced) which made me go "Ugggh." 300 did not do that to me. Let's face it, when someone got slashed and that digital blood went everywhere, none of it splattered on a person.

I was expecting the cinematography to be mind-blowing ultra fantastic. I would give 300 8/10 on this aspect. From the previews, I wanted to be wowed. It did to some extent, but not enough.

I'm going to have to break rank with the overall consensus and give it a 7.5/10. Not sure a 2nd viewing is in my future.
