I had what I call a 'nothing day' today. It was hot and sunny and all I wanted to do was go home! I couldn't even get my lunchtime walk till 4pm because there was a steady trickle of customers - and they were the sort who spend ages browsing and spend £1 (about 2$US), so loads of customers but hardly any money, irritating! Ah well, I'm home now!

My sister and niece called in to bring me a gift from Russia - a full set of stamps for my collection. They've been helping to equip a school there. What horror stories of corruption and skullduggery they had to tell! It's sad when some people just want to make a fast buck, especially when it's at the expense of children :-(

BB sounds like you're having a busy day - maybe we could call you Busy Bee instead! Respect to you for trying to help your mouse friends, maybe it's the heat that got to that poor one rather than a cat. Have a great weekend!

I cut the grass on this muggy humid mosquito plenty afternoon.

I treated myself to a good poutine and coke right after to get my energy back.

    Dear Friends,

A happy weekend to all! Just checking in briefly as I am on holiday in the higher mountains for several days where I have no internet access. Great, as always, reading your accounts of the "mostly mundane."

    Love,

    Revelation in a hot tub,

Actually, a BATHtub, filled with hot water. Returned exhausted from a working holiday in the higher climes, I slipped into the beckoning warmth, pondering what I might share from an enjoyable four days spent alone [but for the domestic creatures].
At 7:50 p.m. I was struck, not by the creative muse, but by the inner, nagging proofreader that I am. The realization hit that I used one compound word where I should have split that word into two distinct words [like the confusion between "a while" and "awhile" and "any one" and "anyone"]. As it is far too late to edit a post of 30 May, I shall do so now:

Post # 1539: "however did the mundane become such a good read?"

Correction: "how [ever] did the mundane become such a good read?"

Profound regrets for any distress or inconvenience visited upon the grammatical sensibilities of concerned readers over this glaring faux pas.

Now that that is off my poofreader's conscience, I can get some seep!

    Night all!

1 exam down, 1 to go! Don't think I did great but hopefully good enough to pass.

Good thing is the other exam isn't till Friday so I effectively get another week to revise :-)

CoCo, should it be 'How did the mundane ever become such a good read' - Ah, no worries anyhoo, we all knew what you were (was?) saying!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

    Have a great day all.

Thank you, Sad emo, I sit corrected. That is right, though I seem to have this penchant for Yoda-esque constructions. My meaning do you get? Many thanx. That your exams are going well makes me glad!

    A good day to all!

    Greetings, Friends:

Cloudy, rainy weather today. Very strange for this time of year, here on the west coast. Trying to get motivated. Rainy days and Tuesdays always get me down.
Wishing all of you a happy and prosperous day.
