    Good Morning All!

Thanx, Ninj - I'm back from the "Roof of the World." But I intend to return soon. Instant travel - from my armchair - is a great thing. Racking up the frequent flyer miles.
I hope today to get in a walk locally. The forests here are breathtaking. How about in the Land o' the Scots? I'm sure your landscape is very, very green.

    Have a great day!

I stepped on a bee yesterday, walking through the grass with my bare feet,

and I thought I had stepped on a large spinter or large needle, or something, and there was a stinger and the poor bee's bum stuck in the sole of my foot....it hurt really bad....Ive been stung by wasps at least 8 times, and this sting was much worse.

A few hours later it was pretty swollen (localized) and itchy, today it is more swollen and extremely itchy....

I took children's benadryl, (that's all I had for an antihistamine) but it hasn't seemed to have had an effect...

I feel bad for the bee - going off to die because of stinging me.....

    Poor, poor Eclipse!

Though in pain and suffering, your heart went out to the wee, winged-creature. While in Tibet for the last few weeks, I observed the humble folk rescuing a fly that dove haplessly into a cup of butter tea, or land workers sifting through the dirt to rescue earthworms and assorted insects. Someone's grandmother, don't you know.

Do please, in future, scamper about with your southern-most extremities shod. A word [several] to the wise!

Today started with yard work. My yard has been slightly neglected as of late!! My irises are almost done . They are a beautiful dark purple and have a nice scent.

I cut my first rose of the year today.

From now until frost I will have roses on my windowsill in the kitchen, taking in the beautiful scent and view while doing a necessary chore.

    Bumble Bee,

Quelle belle rose! Thank you so much for sharing that gorgeous blossom. In truth, the queen of flowers. What would we do without our gardens? That's why I love my walks; I can enjoy either "Nature's Way" or the lavishly embellished properties of the wealthy. And I haven't the upkeep - only the enjoyment!

    Thank you again,

Busy, busy days Monday and Tuesday, I'm starting to feel as though I'm finally getting to the bottom of my 'to do' list - it feels great!! Another busy day today and I should have it cracked.

My book 'Shadow of the Wind' has arrived but I won't start reading it just yet, I'll take it on holiday with me in July when I can concentrate better!

A great day to all of you, the wide world 'round!

Another hot one looming on the horizon. Though we provide H20 for the entire state - and rainfall has been short this season - we always have plenty of water locally. A good year is some 50 - 60 inches, but we've had 90. Snow pack is generally adequate to very good. Cannot recall this year's report.
The fire hazard is an ever-present worry, even in wet years. In dry seasons, however, the fire danger shows its unwelcome face much earlier.

Cannot SHADOW notes wait to compare. At the bit I'm chomping. An unspoilt and unhurried day is that which I you wish.

Some more puttering around in the garden today. We went to Andrew's Scenic Acres the other day and picked up some yummy Black currant Ice Wine (Black Iced "Passion") and Raspberry Truffle Limited Edition Fruit Wine. YUMMY! I love black currants. They are hard to get at the farmers markets around here, it's usually only the red currants. When I can get them I make jam for the winter. I also get the juice when I can, it's wonderful with some Perrier or some fresh brewed iced tea.

While there I bought three black currant canes. Now I just have to find a spot in the garden for them! It will be a couple of years I think before I'll have enough for jam, but it's well worth the wait.

Took the dogs to the river today for a hike and a swim.

I made about 5 trips today, car loaded with boxes and stuff, because my mom is moving soon. I'll make another trip or two this afternoon.
