Up at around 3:00 a.m. Never can sleep more than four hours at a time. Must always check in here first to see what's happening. On the way home from a support group meeting last night, I decided to pull over and get something out of my cooler to eat. I stopped at my usual pull-over spot, looked in my side mirror and saw red lights flashing! Not a clue what was going on behind my back. Stopped for a headlight out. Fix-it ticket. I hope I never get a ticket for a traffic violation.

A busy day lies ahead, what with a gardening job and visiting family in the same neighborhood. Try to do everything in one try, to save on gas. Roasting a chicken to snack on all day. I bring lots of cold herbal teas on these outdoor junkets. Most of the tasks are in the shade, though not all.

Have a great art commission in the offing. Major project with huge possiblities and a potential backer. After years of hard work something may, at last, come to fruition for me.

Boiling water for oatmeal beckons - any culinary tips, Sad emo!?!?

    A good day to all!

Over three hundred hits yesterday on this thread, yet no replies - any explanation for this conundrum?

Good morning CoCo - you make your oats with water?? Ewwww!!! Only skimmed milk for mine (oh well, some folks say that's nearasdammit water anyways!) plus just enough sugar to sweeten them up a little. I had fried egg and sausage on toast for breakfast which fills me up for the whole day. I'll have some tomato soup for lunch in around 30 minutes - depending on customers of course.

I've been busy this morning sorting out some large orders for schools, now I need to put together a bookstall for a church then I will feel I've achieved something today.

Here's hoping the big break finally comes for you too CoCo.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning CoCo;

I didn't post on here yesterday, I just wanted to leave it at your dedication to restrangled. That was a kind thing to do.

Yesterday was a busy busy day, up at 5:30, beautiful sunrise again! There is something special in seeing that wonderous sun rise again for us, the colours in the morning are fantastic! It doesn't take long for them to change, so you have to catch it right away.

I dropped hubby off at work, then headed into Toronto for my one month check up for my eyes. Good news, I see 20/20 with both eyes. My left eye has progressed to 20/30 (it was 20/40) and the Dr said he would be happy if it stayed there (something about dominate eyes for distance and reading etc, long explanation!! lol). Another check up in two months.

I don't know how people commute from here to there every morning!! Traffic once you hit a certain spot is stop and go for a long time! There is no use fretting about it, I just make sure there are some good tunes on, sit back and relax, but I can see where some people get "road rage".

Today is a beautiful day, blue skies, warm weather, cool breeze, perfect!! I have an anniversary party to go to tommorow, so I have a couple of gifts to buy, and of course, some gardening as well!! I love my garden and the time I spend there.

    Have a good one!!

Oh, and as for the oatmeal - I do mine in the microwave, half milk, half water. I like some cinnamon in mine, and serve with a spash of maple syrup. Sometimes I will grate an apple and cook it along with the oatmeal and cinnamon, just be sure to reduce the liquid abit if you do that. Yum Yum!

I like some cinnamon in mine,

    Did someone say CINNAMON !!

I can't stand cinnamon because it burns the heck out of my tongue and mouth, then I get all irriated.

I can't even stand a person chewing cinnamon gum next to me. It will burn my mouth and tongue right away.

mmmmmm! I may have to try that sometime instead of the sugar maybe! Wonder whether grated fresh ginger would be nice. I dreaming of all kinds of things to try in my oats now!!

Poor JH! You must have sensitive taste buds for it to do that to you :-( PS My cat hates your new avatar!! I left him scowling at it for around 5 minutes last night! I think it's cool though!

Nearly done all my jobs, I'm looking forward to going home in 1 1/2 hours. It's warm and very humid again (85% and rising!) the pavements are wet and it's not even raining. I think we could get thunderstorms again.

Thank you, BB, SE and JH!

Oatmeal - will try cooking in milk, though the 1/2 & 1/2 I drown it in surely does help! I, too, add apples and real maple syrup, BB. Sometimes raisins. I appreciate your tips, SE. You are the resident Mush Expert! I am correct, no?

Sin-O-Man! Sorry 'bout your scorched palate, JH .... Be careful out there!

Thoughtful of you, BB, re: restrangled's dedication post. I just couldn't figure the 300-plus reads - in one day.

Off to the weeds; in the 90's today. Whew!
