..........in my experiences thru life.......i have noticed that people that complain & do nothing..........accomplish nothing

on the otherhand....people that do something about their complaints....accomplish things....make changes....however small they may seem at the time....they have put forth an effort to make a difference........

Magoo...Are you implying that complaining and doing nothing is tantamount to complaining and doing nothing? If so I agree wholeheartedly!

    Mag,

Ever hear of passive resistance? What about enlightening people to the true nature of things and helping them see beyond the indoctrination and propaganda they have been conditioned with?

I think reasoning with people and helping them see where they have been duped will make changes, just as much or more, than joining a political group or voting. The evolving human consciousness and awareness in my opinion will eventually rise above the need for human governments, that is if human governments with all there weapons of mass destruction don't wipe us out first.

I remember thinking like that when I was 14, after smoking huge amounts of weed. Then I grew up, went to college, got a job, paid my taxes, voted and became a responsible citizen of the U.S.

Without a doubt, the most evil and corrupt government ever to deface the earth is the USA!

Where's Pol Pot when we need him?

Yes, stop paying your taxes; be sure to let the IRS know exactly where to find you. Demonstrate your whiney ennui-laden passive non-violent resistance to them, and they will help you become a martyr for your cause. We promise we won't laugh at you behind your back.

Hey this is not the issue of which government is better or worse. The issue is that when a politician uses the word freedom, they use it a a clique that has almost no meaning and is used the same way a mind control cult uses words to stop thinking.

I probably will pay my taxes by force, but I will do so unwillingly, as uncle sam is really a police state with an army and prisions to make one comply, they do not represent freedom and thier use of the word borders on rediculous.

Frankie....I vote, which is the primary responsibility of any citizen of any country....

If you actually voted, then you would realize how utterly ridiculous being proud of not voting is.

One lousy stinking vote means more than a gazzilion opinions in cyberspace.

This is an impressive crowd. The haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite. I call you my base. - George W. Bush, October 20, 2000, speaking at the Al Smith fund raising dinner in New York City.

We can either have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both. - Louis Brandeis, U. S. Supreme Court Justice (1861-1939)

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal." - Martin Luther King, Jr. speaking at the Lincoln Memorial, August 28, 1963.

"The ideals set forth in the stirring rhetoric of the Declaration of Independence notwithstanding, the founding of the United States and the drafting and ratification of the U. S. Constitution did not bring democracy to North America. Rather, it created a context for a long struggle to overcome an inherited cultural and institutional legacy of five thousand years of Empire - a struggle violently opposed by the elites in power. The historical reality of the genocide against Native Americans, the enslavement of blacks, the denial of the basic rights and humanity of women, and the denial of a just share of profits to those who toil to make capital productive manifests this legacy, underscores the magnitude of the challenge, and reveals how much remains undone." - David C. Korten, The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community (2006)

What good fortune for those in power that people do not think . - Adolf Hitler

So by voting I would become enlighted? So what happens, does this realization come as soon as I cast my vote or do I have to wait a few months?

One lousy stinking vote means more than a gazzilion opinions in cyberspace.

I think there is no way of proving this, how would one measure the results? Isn't it all just your opinion?
