I love the Wiccan Rede! Been reading up on Wicca in my search for faith in...something...I don't know. It's so positive and non-harming to anything including yourself. Just beautiful! Health all around

Hey you guys I am not preaching. . . . Jesus is the way.

First, the claim that she's not preaching, then, only a couple sentences later,,"Jesus is the way." Preachers can't resist lying, can they? Their lies are as blatant as the falsity of the rubbish that they preach.

Yeah sure, this was several pages back, but eh, what the heck...

    (Poster asking about a DVD)

Which is the reality ? Watchting it, or holding it all in your hand ?

Er...the reality bit came in right about the time they were filiming the car chase you talked about being on the DVD....

The DVD...is just a film of the reality encoded on some metal and plastic...

    OK, bye now...

    Yes... I know.

As I said, it was an analogy and like all analogies, they fall apart. I guess that if I had to try to find a place in this analogy for the filming of this DVD then it would have to be in the realm of "the creator" ???? I was just trying to describe something that can be viewed either in "real time" or all at once. Maybe I should have said "Which experience is more real, watching it in real time or holding it all 'happening at once' in your hand" My answer is that they are both as real as each other.

Well, Jesus referred to the Flood of Noah as a real historical event- Paul and Peter did, too.

    Reportedly.

    Important word.

    hibie:

The only thing is that he didn't die on the cross for the world. Jesus did. BIG DIFFERENCE man.

But like the crowd in the story, you believe that based on no evidence whatsoever. Saying Jesus died on a cross for our sins doesn't make it true. Here, let me try doing that...

It is true that I have a million pounds/dollars/whatever in the bank.

...Bugger. It seems that saying something is true doesn't make it so. But that's the argument you're giving.

Hi I'm back 144. Isn't there a difference in preaching and telling the truth? I mean if you tell someone that grass is green (I am talking about normal grass here that is alive - I know how some of you are) is that preaching or telling the truth?

Terry: Anybody can play with words and detach them from actual meaning and definition.

Hi Terry I think you are a real pro at doing just that. Somehow are you sure that the words you use are coming accross as comprehensible or too distorted that even you yourself get lost in what you are saying. Then maybe even going further away from the truth.

I am not sure that Jesus was more than a retelling of a very old myth... I have no idea who he really was if he was at all.

as for his teachings, most of them seem to have existed long before him

    nothing original.

if he was real, he seems little different from other cult leaders to me now

especially with his Kiss my ass or suffer eternally. attitude.

    Is that a question?

Further, what most people really call Christianity is PAUL.

I challenge anybody here to give me a meaningful Christianity that pretends Paul never existed.

The real Christianity is swept away mostly by the outrageous Platonic perversion of Judaism paganized by the "Apostle" Paul. His theology is based on his self-anointing as "chosen" by an hallucinated Jesus. Outrageous.

Why isn't Jesus enough for Christians?
