For the record, there are some ISPs that do use NAT or web proxies. Now, this is probably not a big deal, but firefly has been accused in public. So someone with access to the actual IP address might want to perform a reverse DNS lookup and explore the possibility of NAT/proxy in this case. If the httpd logs User-Agent information, this could also give some clues.
Anyway, I suppose I am only curious. :) -

Thanks finally-free, If i could get up to Toronto i would take you up on that. It still wouldn't prove that we're 2 different people though.... About an hour ago, out of the blue, i received a very strange e-mail from my ex. It was a reply to an e-mail that i had sent to him more than 4 months ago and it's the first contact that i've had from him since that time.

had not noticed the ip addresses being the same, but i'm on my home computer and i don't share it with anyone else. I'm the only one here besides my five year old nephew. I don't know too much about this, but can an ip address be hacked? I've actually received a few e-mails over the past week or so responding to e-mails that i never even sent.

I know this won't help everyones opinion of me, but a good friend of mine is an escalation engineer for Microsoft. I called him earlier this evening. He's the only one i knew who might be able to help. He said that he's encountered this type of situation several times before and offered to do some digging for me. I gladly accepted.
The post i made in Aug. was very real and i appreciate all those who responded to it. It helped me get through a very difficult time in my life, and i still go back and read them when i start to feel a little down. I had only wanted to be able to help others in my situation so that they could feel better too.

welcome worldly girl...and dont mind some of the naysayers who dont want to take you and your experience at face value....we just had a hugefraud on the board that went on for 2 years and was outed last week...Nerves are a bit on edge...took a lot of people through an emotional roller coaster.... please share what you can...but understand we are a bit suspicious....nothing personal

my my my...what a paranoid bunch we've become since the T'Gate issue last week. I dont know what to think...I want to believe people until they prove untrustworthy..lets take this at face value until someone proves otherwise. Is there a matching IP addy to a known troll? I'd hate to think no one will trust or believe me if I post something about myself in the future...but I can live with that. I watched the TG thing go down, so I understand the sceptics I would really hate that someone wanting real help and advice are going to be questioned, interrogated, probed, and all around not believed...much like a judicial committee in the Star Chamber at the Kingdumb Hell.... why would the newbies continue to come to this board if that is how they are going to be treated?...pretty soon..we degenerate to a bunch of...gasp...ex witnesses acting like witnesses again...
