Towards all religious beliefs?

Why not?

Don't ex-JW's that practice that deserve the same respect and consideration as those that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?

Which groups really are more potentially offensive to lurking JW's?

Who is the guy around here that talks about making those that disagree with him "pay for it"?

I have a special place in my heart for anyone who is an ex-JW no matter their current mindset or lifestyle. . .unless 2 of them happen to share the same IP address.

Nobody that I know of has any problems with atheists being here or anywhere. Nobody that I know of has any problems with atheists believing differently than others.

What many DO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH is atheists continuously attacking those that do believe in God.

If you just take a stroll through the active topics over the past year, you will see the facts as they are.

Tolerance and respect is what's being asked of here.

The most I have where atheist and theist head butt a lot is in the evolution and creationism threads.

Know if I were to walk up to you and insist the sky is brown? When you and several others look up and see it's clearly blue. I then point to this holy book my bible and quote out a sentence that saying the sky is brown and insist you are all wrong. You keep point to the sky and say it's blue. I then call you a heathen and say your are mislead by the devil and will go to hell because of it.

What would you do?

I respect alot of what you said Vinny.

And I've been careful to be kind and respectful to everyone here.

Have I been so respectful of Jehovah and Allah?

No.

Why?

You, Vinny, are real to me. I can have a beer with you. I can send you a card if you lose a dead loved one. I can hug you. I shake shake your hand and look you in the eye and you can feel my sincerity and my humanity and I can feel yours.

I can't say the same for the numerous deities worshipped through the ages.

It is my sincere conviction that religions have divided people, thrown up artificial walls, when our greatest can be achieved when we realize we're all one family.

Idealistic?

I was disapponited when Black Pearl and Rosalee started mocking and verbally abusing homosexual posters on here, some of whom still are trying to hold on to their faith, Christianity even.

I simply pointed out that that was to be expected from conscientious Jehovah worshippers.

Was that wrong of me to point out?

I don't get the reaction I'm seeing from the believers to simple words from atheists.

Either pity us or sincerely help us to regain our faith.

But please don't ask us to shut up

Is that a satifactory attitude?

We can be respectful of others and respect their right to hold certain beliefs and at the same time have no respect whatsoever for those beliefs.

I respect that a Muslim man has the right to believe that he can beat his wife as part of his responsibilities as her husband but I have no respect for the belief itself.

If Changeling, NVR and any other JWD poster is for respect and tolerance to be shown to other posters, then we can certainly agree with that.

Feel free to post that here. I did not save a copy.

There is no need to debate this endlessly. Nobody can force anybody to do anything differently aside from the owner of this site. If he is happy with the current spirit in the air, then that is that.

All others can do is to accept what it is and work around the offensive posts, jump in for debate after debate, or leave altogether.

I have done all three at times so far.

Depends on the mood and circumstances I guess...
