Well as you may know, I "studied" a short time ago with some JW's. I didn't tell them I was born into the religion, just that I attend church occasionally and that I have some family members who are JW's.
They had the most difficult time with me, as I had an answer for just about everything they said. They finally gave up the study, but they have recently started coming around again.
What do you think I should do this time? Keep in mind I have nothing to lose, I just did this for a little fun and also I did it to try to see what it is like for someone to be converted into the JW religion, I was born in and can't see why people are duped into this cult.
Well anyway, how do you think I should proceed this time?
Should I just outright give them a piece of my mind, or should I continue in my reverse theocratic warfare.
I am the honest type, I don't like to trick people, I am pretty much an "in your face" type person.
The only reason I dragged it out as long as I did, was that I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to arise when they happened to bring a young school age JW or college age JW to the study, the only problem is he kept bringing those older retiree type JW's to the study.
I want to say something that will stick in the mind of any JW kid that tags along to the study.
So I have 2 choices
1. keep up this charade.
2. Tell them what I really know and think about their cult.
like I said, nothing to lose either way.
OK, let me explain....

Dawg I hear and feel where your coming from , but for some of us who actuality have a decent relationship with their still in relatives
taking a hard line stance against the JWS may just destroy what we have in place, I'm just one of those folks. I haven't been to a hall in 30 years or so except
for my mothers Funeral and my relatives know I have no interest in religion, so we just leave things as they are.
For example my father is 78 years old now and has all his social life rapped up with JWS at his hall and his close by neighbors, I think for him at this point to turn off the switch would be too
hard on him psychologically, he's been involved with it now for some 55 years, so these are the things that have to be considered when progressing in that direction.

JG< someone else would probably be better suited to answer your question then me... but I read the so called "Proclaimers" book, it's explanation on the mansion in San Diego... it's a lie, and ought right lie.
What would happen if you exposed that lie? Really exposed it and asked them why the book tells such a lie... the prophesy about Abraham, and the "worthies" coming back in 1929 is set in stone... in the "Millions Now Living" book. -
Junction-Guy
Well I would have to have the materials to expose that lie. About the only thing they will accept is their own literature and since I personally don't have a proclaimers book, I am kind of SOL in that respect.
But there are many other lies that can be verified too.
I think this time I will be more creative, but I will definitely have my say with them. -
dawg
Dude, check out my post where a page is taken from the so called "Proclaimer's" Book... you can use that.

But they are less likely to believe anything that is copied, especially from the internet, they would have to practically see it in the actual book.
Also would most JW's give a flip about Beth Sarim? Even as an Ex JW, it doesnt really mean much in the scheme of things. Their false prophecies that I have personally witnessed in my lifetime seem much more relevent.
Think of some more ideas. -

How about 607BC? JG?
-
Junction-Guy
607 BC is definitely a good point, if I could work my way up to that. The average householder wouldnt even know about 607 and if I reveal too much it could blow my cover.
-
dawg
Yea, 607BC is pretty specific, or technical. So what do you have in mind?

I am not really sure, I guess it depends on who tags along with him.
I am kind of torn between giving him a piece of my mind, or trying some way to get him out of the cult. Something I may say or do to cause him to question things.
If I were successful in deprogramming him, it would definitely be a big feather in my cap.
but still, I want to speak my mind, I want them to know.
I guess I will have to decide which of the 2 would be the most satisfying to me.
