So guns are a safety net so you have an efficient weapon to kill other human beings and governments when the time comes? `r
Thats just the bonus for me...
I like machines... firearms are classic examples of form and function... some are nearly 'art'
Shooting sports over a wide range of ways to improve co-ordination, kill time, have fun and reduce stress... so does weight lifting or running around in ones underwear or riding a bike. Shooting and marksmanship is a legitimate sport... the ethical foundation for another sport called "hunting".
Licenses taxes and fees make my shooting hobby another source of revenue to my state federal and local tax base. If shooting or guns are immoral maybe the government should refund the dirty money they take from me.
what the media doesnt tell you is that for every round fired at a body in the US about 10,000,000 safely end up in a rock pit, clay bank, or range backstop.
I hate to see anyone die from any non natural cause... 5500 child deaths or deaths of anyone else for that matter... If you look at the rounds fired yearly it's statistically pretty probable you wont get shot here accidently or other wise.
Foul you cry... sorry statistics and numbers are manipulated every day....
Finally...every gun my fellow collectors, hobbiests and legal gun owners buy is one more gun that off the street. We do the government a service. Until the government builds enough armory space (and gives everyone of us a key for it) we will continue to purchase our own guns... secure them from gang bangers, pay for our own marksmanship training and provide for the common good of out communities.
We will risk civil and criminal prosecution for any accidental discarge ...just like we buy house and auto insurance to pay for anyother damages we may cause using dangerous things like swimming pools and cars.
