  And you think that would be a good thing? Mad Dawg has it right. What makes you think the goverment will care more? The way they waste our tax dollars?

  How old are you? I am thinking you are rather young because obviously you haven't had a serious enough disease yet to know what the insurance companies have in store for you when you do.

  A group of six Senators are working on some type of bipartisan "deal", according to this NY Times article. It seems that their deal does not include a government-run plan and it doesn't include a high-earner income surtax.

  I don't have a problem with some types of reform, but anything close to goverment run scares me. I live in NJ I've seen the government in action. I'd like to see a separation between healthcare and state.

  If I thought that government run health care could live up to its promises, I would be all for it. We should see how well it can manage a car company before we trust it with our lives.

  My wife has a congenital heart defect. I have lost several jobs and have never had a problem getting care for her.

  When the government controls healthcare it controls you??? LOL..you are already OWNED by the corporatists of this country who have aligned themselves with the FED. You have absolutely NO control over your life now if they decide to yank your chain - there is a monopoly in food, health insurance, publishing, finance and media in this country which essentially means that you have only 1 choice from 3 companies..that is control my friend. The insurance industry has a monopoly in this country and I believe they have the legal right to override personal rights and freedoms. At the very least, a government run insurance plan would provide one more choice - sadly, the USA is going to implode on itself because they can't seem to get it together.
