Anyone that wants coverage can simply purchase it.
Burns you said anyone that wants coverage can simply purchase it. This is a lie, you are a liar and this is far from your first lie.

Goodnight Jeff. I hope you are able to sleep after soiling yourself publicly with an utter lack of a rational argument. BTS
Man, you really do need the last word... Fine, I will let you have it, after noting that if you got rid of the T in BTS, then we could accurately get what your arguments are all about B S
The system is broken.
Insurance, in law and economics, is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent loss. Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another, in exchange for a premium, and can be thought of as a guaranteed and known small loss to prevent a large, possibly devastating loss. An insurer is a company selling the insurance; an insured or policyholder is the person or entity buying the insurance. The insurance rate is a factor used to determine the amount to be charged for a certain amount of insurance coverage, called the premium. Risk management, the practice of appraising and controlling risk, has evolved as a discrete field of study and practice.
In other words an entity that profits from people who will almost undoubtedly (ageing and all) end up facing a devastating loss. Problem is, these fucks drop you when the hint of that loss appears. The only real purpose they serve, is to make a pool, for bargaining. Ohhhh but wait they are in symphony with those we might bargain with. Useless.
PEC, damn right it's a lie. Anyone who wants it, can afford it, and has no preexisting conditions can purchase it.
I go back to what I said - if you believe in the status quo - you are in fact for slavery. You believe in servitude. You have no wish to abolish inequality, something the civil rights groups in this country fought for.
Realistically, inequality can never be abolished. Humans are not all equal. Some people are good, others evil. Some are intelligent, others not. Some are strong, others weak. The most we can strive for is equality before the law. This we already have, at least in theory. To enforce equality of outcome is to destroy achievement based on merit.
You talk about freedom. We need the freedom to choose. We do not have enough of that now with healthcare, and we will have even less under Obamacare.
You know what the working class jokingly said under Hitler in the 1930's when referring to the days of the Weimar Republic?
"We had freedom to starve."
In Hitler they traded their freedom for security.
What did they end up with?
Neither.
Oh and Jeff. Thanks for giving me the last word. Here it is: Go to sleep, loser. You lost this one, because you didn't bring any game. It doesn't help that you are wrong, either.
There, I am talking at a level you can comprehend.

I happen to work as a management level engineer for a fortune 500 and so probably you would consider me as one of the pigs. I consider myself a successful example of what can happen to you if you work hard after getting the hell out of the witnesses. So, my dear, in this case - I do give a damn.
I was going to refrain from posting anything else on this thread, but this is worth it. JWoods, that is awesome! All political disagreements aside, what an amazing accomplishment!
This is the most unrational discussion I have seen on your healthcare debate. If this is as good as it gets, you all should give up. North of the 49th , our system may be flawed somewhat (and the other side of the Atlantic), but NO ONE loses their home. I just cannot understand all the hate and misinformation. Everyone on this planet deserves minimum health care. Anything else is unGodly. Some of you that call yourselves godly? Hard to believe in these discussions. Good luck Barack. Pretty messed up.
