I think it's common for JW's, such as yourself, to think that those who leave the organization DO NOT love God.

And that is simply not true.

It's just an observation for which i may well be shot down

There's an old adage about not judging someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...

I think many people would like to forget about their JW experience, but can't. They have family members, perhaps even a spouse that won't let them forget.

    Hi there.

I can understand how disheartening it is to read of former JW's talk ill of their former faith. I felt that as well for a time.

However, in my case, I not only learned of lies and misrepresentations, but also, because of my background and training within the organization, I know very well the in's, outs, and what the GB in particular hopes to accomplish. I feel I am in a unique position to offer insights into a religious group that, while it has many noble people of faith, lies about itself a lot.

What is discouraging to some also is encouraging to others. However, I don't write to talk bad about the people, I write to expose the falsehoods and control tactics of the Governing Body.

People who were abused usually flock to each other. I've noticed that people who's parents were abusive usually become friends and talk about their childhoods, or children who were forced into sports as a child will congregate and talk about it. Here people were spiritually abused and come to find like people to talk about it.

There are other reasons, but think about this why do people go on message boards and talk about crappy electronics they bought? Don't you think they should just move on with their lives? It's just kind of the way it is. People talk about their bad expiriences.

    angel eyes,

If you escaped from a WWII German Concentration camp which everyone on the outside was told it was a "work" camp or a "training" camp, and were happy you did so but still you knew what it really was, what would you do?

Would you walk away grateful you were out and just go back to living your life and say nothing about it?

Or would you use your voice to tell the world what lies were being spread about it by its administrator and what a dangerous, killing place it really was?

I have chosen the latter. Others have chosen the former.

I think I'd question that Jehovah is the only source of happiness.

    hi Angel

you make good point, there is a definite feeling of love/hate once zealousness for witnesses is now turned into an equal bitter zealousness against them and to become identified as an ex-Jw by some on here. It is almost like they are making it a religion out of being ex-JWs.

If you are on here for a while you will see alternate wt-studies, alternate articles and encouragement against witnesses. Incitement to do active things against witnesses or their websites. and suggestions for getting spouses and friends out of the witnesses. There are youtubers that do articles for regulars to watch.

I have always thought if you cannot be a witness it is better to put it completely behind you even if you have family members who are witnesses simply because dwelling in bitterness is not good for anyone.

your using Godwins law is a fallacy and a low attempt to manipulate people's emotions.

bitterness is a natural emotion we all have to one extent or another Reniaa, against something or another. You are bitter at something, so is your next door neighbor. So is Pres Obama. It is the constructive channeling of that bitterness that makes one a productive person. Trying to educate others of the shortcoming of the org is a proper channeling of bitterness. Walking in and vandalising a KH is not. Helping others see the thruth is a proper channeling. I have not seen encouragement against JWs on this board. I have seen action to bring information to members who seem to blindly beleive and follow the org.

Show me a thread of someone trying to vandalise, assualt, etc or otherwise harm a JW and I am with you to call the authorities.
