reniaa,
Your lack of cogent thinking ability is tragically monumental.
:It is almost like they are making it a religion out of being ex-JWs.
Religions have faith. Religions worship something. With those two obvious facts, there isn't even anything "almost" about ex-JWs of being a "religion". Your accusing is so ridiculously stupid, I wonder why I even need to point it out.
:have always thought if you cannot be a witness it is better to put it completely behind you even if you have family members who are witnesses simply because dwelling in bitterness is not good for anyone.
Fine. Why doesn't the Congregation "put it completely behind" them when a member decides to leave? NO! They publicly shame and shun them. They go out of their way to humiliate them, gossip about them and even slander them. Your stupid religion ruins lives AFTER a member leaves and you are whining that ex-JWs are so horrible because they are bitter because of that? ex-JWs don't do anything NEAR the amount of evil to JWs as JWs did and do to them. If your thinking is so ridiculously crippled that you cannot see the double-standard here, then I wonder why I even need to point it out.
:your using Godwins law is a fallacy and a low attempt to manipulate people's emotions.
It's not a logical fallacy. It's called Goodwin's LAW. And even so, it's not even a LAW, but a matter of etiquiette. Did you actually READ the Wiki article? Note what it says:
"The rule does not make any statement about whether any particular reference or comparison to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that the likelihood of such a reference or comparison arising increases as the discussion progresses. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued, [ 4 ] that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact."
Furthermore, you are presupposing that my question would have to depend on a Nazi analogy. It doesn't.
I wrote:
"If you escaped from a WWII German Concentration camp which everyone on the outside was told it was a "work" camp or a "training" camp, and were happy you did so but still you knew what it really was, what would you do?"
How does this change my question and the two answers I provided, dear reniaa?:
"If you escaped from a terrible environment of abuse which everyone else thought was a loving and caring environment and you knew that terrible environment of abuse would continue to harm others after you left, what would you do?"
Playing with you is not like shooting fish in a barrel. It is more like shooting crippled fish in a teacup. With a shotgun.
