If there was a God, I do not think that I would like Him.
Yes if God does exist he is a very funny guy or a very evil one. Let us kill ourselves for so many years without any solid evidence and proof of his existence? IF he inspired all the holly books then I will be even more mad for purposely lying to some and not to other or to everyone. What a heck?
So If God does exist. I hope Satan too because at least he is not guilty of all the things he is been accused of. Just read the bible or the Koran and see how bad God does behave if you dont follow him. sometimes he will even punish you if your father did something wrong.. And that is justice?
don't care much for Richard Dawkins' manner. He comes across as arrogant, condescending and dogmatic.
Interesting is that people who find him arrogant is theists.
But how can I love and trust someone with my whole heart, and then turn around, shrug and say... "Of course, I have to be fair and admit that you might not actually exist..." ?
If I do so, then I have now betrayed someone I profess to love, and this creates a terrible conflict in both my mind and my heart.
So you can not leaving that possibility open because it will mean you will betray him? I think my father is my father because I look like him but if someone were to challenge that there is no evidence that he is and there is no way to prove it he leaving that possibility close would mean my loyalty to him but my betrayal to honesty.
I took my ex=girlfriend to a EX_JW meet up here in California, Most of them are now christians. she was not sure about God. But after the meetup she said. I think I am more convinced to become an atheist.
An Agnostic is someone who doesnt know if God exists or not. An Atheist is someone who can not prove that God exist or not. An Agnostic cant prove that either so and Agnostic is really an atheist who is not comfortable with the term yet.
I am now an Anti-theist. Because I believe that religion has done more harm than good to humanity.

I had a read at David Galloway's power-point, I was imagining how intensely frustrating it would have been to sit through that presentation without the opportunity to challenge the numerous fallacies. Preaching to the choir is easy.
You read the slides but you didn't listen to the talk? And you're getting frustrated by what you imagined he said? I should add that he wasn't preaching to the choir; this was at the Alpha Course.
Why don't you challenge Galloway on his numerous fallacies; he's in Scotland and can be contacted via his website. It may be helpful to post your challenges and his responses on this thread (or create a new one) to help everyone establish the reasonable logic of atheism over faith. I'll then post the conversation to our church website where the audio and PowerPoint slides are. That way a balanced, reasoned conclusion can be reached.

Maybe this can help some understand what entails being an Atheist, Agnostic & Anti-theist.
Real good video.

Well its based on the fact that every time I see someone call him arrogant is not an atheist. I personally dont care much about the guy. Just your comment seems interesting.
Why is he arrogant? because he hits people in the face with facts? I dont mind if you hit me with a fact. I had no choice but to accept it. Unless I dont want to then I might call you arrogant. :-) I am just saying

Could mans curiosity be the best proof that God does exist?
Does this mean that Nessie, the abominable snowman, sasquatch, basically everything they talk about on Coast to Coast AM, also exists because people are also curious about those things?
I know God exists because of the impossibility of the contrary.
To what impossibility are you referring?

What, exactly, does it cost an atheist to admit to the possibility of God?
Because all too often the religious use their idea of what religion should be to get their way or try to determine how others should live. I mean, no atheists ever started a war over which was wasn't real or tried to use the the lack of a god to justify slavery or prevent two people in love from getting married.
I am not suggesting that ALL christians are like that, but all too often religion/god/the bible/the koran is used to justify horrific things and impose a will on others that have no interest.

Well, you can't accurately make this blanket statement anymore. I'm happy to be the first atheist, in your experience, to call him arrogant.
As for facts backing up my opinion? I don't have the time or desire to do so right now. I was just stating my overall impression of how he comes across. If you take issue with it, then I'd love to hear your opinion of how you think he presents himself.
And as for my own arrogance, well, whatever my baseline arrogance level was, interacting on this board has been a humbling experience for me. The brilliant minds on here don't suffer fools, like me, kindly.
