It's hard to imagine a witness being so sinister as to be "getting the layout" for a future crime while he's out in field service. I mean, why bother with all of the rest of the stuff that they have to put up with, and then to be a giant hypocrite?! I must be naive. Really, it would seem that the identifying of them in the congregation would move them to be ashamed of presenting themselves as "clean workers with nothing to be ashamed of" and that they would VOLUNTARILY refrain from field service.

But I agree that what is being referred to as "pedophilia" here may be including a lot of other relatively innocent things. The word invokes the worst in human nature but a moment of unrestrained curiosity, in a distant past, with no repeats, deserves to be left in the past. I know a witness like this and he has my sympathy and trust. I don't expect any agreement here because of the nature of the forum, but even Caeser's law allows for expunging a person's record if good fidelity has been demonstrated. There is absolutely no forgiveness for anybody who has been given that label. Maybe in most cases it's best not to forget, but in some cases, we are only demonstrating small-mindedness by not forgiving.

STILLIN- If a former child molester has evil intent in his heart he can masquerade as a witness who wants to do good and still give the false " appearance " that he wants more return visits - when what he really wants is more child victims to molest while out in service. Most pedophiles are not guilty of " a moment of unrestrained curiosity " . They know that prurient interest in children is wrong and continue to show such interest in children. These people have a sickness , a mentally imbalanced condition which results in them preying on unsuspecting children. It is not natural , it is a perversion of a normal adult who should only be attracted to adults 18 and over.

It's not unfair for parents to " not forgive " even one incident - as their job is to protect their children. Becauae how are we to know what goes on inside the offender who had just " one incident " ? Better to be safe in protecting the children. If there is a God- let him or her decide whether to forgive such a person . The main priority is protecting innocent children. peace out, Mr. Flipper

Mr Fipper, my daughter was molested when she was very young, by a trusted family member. I know about not being so forgiving that we set ourselves up for a repeat performance. There are very few people that I would entrust my grandchildren to if a situation arose. We may be saying the same thing, except you are saying that diligence is due AFTER the fact. I'm saying that you can't know where something like this comes from and that in our thoughts, we are all guilty of fantasizing one thing or another, which makes each of us like a loaded weapon.

I have as much faith in this witness friend as I have in anybody. But the only person I can really be sure of is my own self.

STILLIN- I am very sorry to hear your daughter was molested my friend. That is very sad. I hope she is doing better now . I agree we can't be certain where these dangers come from. I get that. Thus the need for due dligence in protecting our children. I agree that , " we are all guilty of fantasizing one thing or another " - molesting children or being sexually attracted to children is not one of those " things " - at least for me.

It would only make " each one of us a loaded weapon " if a perverted sense of sexual attraction to children is inside of an individual. If you have faith in this witness friend - that is your choice and assessment of the person - just keep him away from children. Yes- I agree we can be sure of ourselves . Peace out, r. Flipper

I just have to commit stillin. The CO told me about a case of a 16 year old sister who accused an elder of doing something to her and the CO was trying to get me off the topic of the child rapists in our hall by telling me how this poor elder now was black listed and could not be used anymore. To the CO it was all so sad for the elder.

In my hall I am not talking about a 16 years old. One of the child molester raped a 7 year old child and prosecuted other girls anther raped an eight year old child and one raped his own six year old daughter plus a 7 year old. For two of the child molesters it is on the internet.

Child molesters love the chase, they love to hunt their next victims. They can take years to do this. That is part of the fun for them. I have no problem with them being in the "truth" but just as Flipper say stay the hell away from children. Just as with an alcoholic or a chain smoker the elders would never allow they to give a part or go out in service with a bottle of booze or a pack of cigrettes in their front pocket but a child rapists if he can find woman to marry him can walk around holding children and give parts take their kids out in service and nothing is done because it is their own children. That is how one of the pedophiles in my hall does it.

Another befriends single mom's, he took years studying with the big brother before he turned to taking care of the little sister. Then it was myself that the elders accused of being perverted. They said I was in the wrong for saying anything about this child molester holding the little girl. The elders felt like you do that this man is fine he did his time plus elder felt very strongly that this pedophile did not even rape the girl. But this man served eight years in prison for his crime. All I ask if for him to stay away from children. Be in the "truth" love the "truth" give talks do everything. Just stay the hell away from babies.

I am sorry if I come across as upset but this affects the children all of their lives. It is not the child rapist who is affected but the babies they rape that are affected FOR LIFE.

Another point is they do not stop! I just had one of my jobs the wife just died six weeks ago. He totally went after me the last time I was there. Grabbing my breast and trying to kiss me on the lips. Now it all makes sense why his oldest daughter is so screwed up. The younger one is a doctor but the oldest one has had a hard life. It makes sense now. This guy is 80 years old and I am younger then his two girls. SICK. I am sure he only did it to one daughter. They know how to pick their victims.

FLIPPER: sorry if I wasn't clear about fantasizing. I'm talking about wondering in your head what it IS that appeals to child molesters. Same as wondering what it IS that homosexuals do or want. I think that in a moment of honesty, everybosy woul;ds admit to simply wondering about it. Not all who are called pedophiles really deserve the label. And damn the ones who do!

LTS: my wife was pursued by an elder like that right before we were married. I don't know whether he was pathological, probably so, but it was disgusting. There's something awfully tempting about a precoscious 16 year old girl. When I was a younger man there were several like that in the cong, who paraded around at their house or mine, flashing their new equipment, rubbing on me whenever they could. I had to step away many times at the KH. But it was flattering to my ego and tempting, too. But I agree that the sickos are hunters and have no respect for another's developement or life.

But the lynch-mob mentality when it comes to this subject is another sickness. Each case should be judged on its' own.

I know what you are talking about 16 year old girls showing off. But look at where some of them come from. There was one who was 14 and had just gotten really big fast. She would bounce when she walked in the hall on purpose. I saw her do it with my own eyes. Then one day her family sat behind us. And her PIG of a father was bragging about his girls tits to another man. I was so mad. I thought now it makes sense. He said does she not have great ones.

I am sorry but these 16 year old children who do this have learned it from being molested as kids. Child rape affects the child when they get older and many of them act out on it as teenagers. Some do not but many do.

I am sorry but I just cannot believe it is a lynch-mod mentality. Child rape is child RAPE. There is no way around it. The 16 year old who are flaunt what they have are the children who where raped at the age of five. You are just seeing the affects of it.

Since KOOL-AID man is having a show on child abuse tonight- thought I might bump this thread up for the weekend for any to relate experiences of pedophiles or child abusers they heard about still going in the door to door field service.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT- I agree with you . Many children react in a blatantly sexual way due to the environment they've been raised in. A father bragging to other men about his teenage daughters breasts ? Jesus christ. That's disgusting and totally uncalled for. And I agree with you- child molesters seek out women who have children or teenagers so they can prep their next victims. It has to stop . I'm so glad you are being proactive in your own way to stop the abuse of children. Keep up the good work ! My wife and I are proud to call you our friend.

STILL IN- There really is no " lynch mob " activity going on as you claim. The fact of the matter is that thousands of JW and other children are being molested as I write this reply with NO ONE checking out the abusers. Better to error on the side of proactive containment of child molesters- than error on the side of giving NO attention to these crimes being committed against children
