  It seems to me that the Elders think they have the rite to decide that for them.

  KARTER- Good point you make for sure. It is up to the householder who they want coming to their door , or on their property. I'm quite sure if most householders knew that Joe Pedophile or Harry the Molester was calling at their doorstep- they would stop them from even walking on their property. Especially if they have children. So, you are right- the elders DO NOT have the right to determine WHO will call at people's doors

  YES! A medical professional, an elder in good standing, goes door-to-door in my region after raping his daughter for many years.

  I can't give details as I will "out" myself and my family. (How cultish is that?)

  ........ what is being referred to as "pedophilia" here may be including a lot of other relatively innocent things. The word invokes the worst in human nature but a moment of unrestrained curiosity, in a distant past, with no repeats, deserves to be left in the past.

  QUILLSKY- I agree. A couple of us tried reasoning with Quillsky if you read our comments to him. He minimizes the dangers of pedophilia and child abuse. And yes- that IS dangerous. Better to be more cautious than not enough. That's the way the elders should be in the JW organization. More cautious

  I don't know any JWs that I know are pedophiles any more. I don't know many JWs period. My molester is playing with the worms. In life he attacked those in his congregation, his family, his neighborhood - anyone that came into his house was at risk, and I would see him at it in the next room while others were busy.

  He might have used service to scout, but he only attacked close to his house. He needed to start a study or offer car repair services to people at the door to get them in range.

  I'm talking about wondering in your head what it IS that appeals to child molesters.

  There are plenty of books on the subject. Most like the power trip of control. Some have eroticized certain body types, and some research suggests this is an aberration of looking for an efficient child bearing body. Some have sexualized aspects of childhood, such as innocence. There are a variety of fetishes involved.

  Same as wondering what it IS that homosexuals do or want.

  The same thing you want and do in a loving relationship, except penile-vaginal intercourse. Just with an adult of the same gender.
