Getting something you don't deserve says what exactly about the person accepting and the person giving?

Christians base their faith on "need" rather than merit.

Christians make the "undeserved" part of the Gift reflect on God's LOVE rather than an indication of his violation of his own values.

Getting a Christian to even see the real issue is next to impossible because, after all, they are getting something FREE which they don't deserve!

Where does reality enter the picture here?

A local Fortune Teller in a seedy part of Fort Worth many years ago had a pretty good business going for herself. Any client that came to her for a problem to be solved was told three things:

1.You have a curse placed on you. Your life will only get worse and worse until the curse is lifted.

2.Lifting the curse requires a ritual. (The fortune teller makes up a meaningless ritual that involves burying a large sum of money in a hole.)

    3. The Fortune Teller later (after secretly retrieving the buried money) pronounces the curse as having been "lifted". The client goes away happy and relieved.

This is a model of how GRACE works.

    1. All Christians have to believe that a CURSE has been placed on them and their life will get worse and worse until it is lifted.

    2. A meaningless ritual is involved (baptism, prayer, meeting attendance, etc.) The person's SELF is buried in a hole. (i.e. they have to go to church or a Kingdom Hall etc. for the rest of their life.)

    3. Jehovah lifts the curse (Jesus died for your sins) and you go away happy and unburdened.

The Watchtower Society or your local Pastor reaps the reward by using your buried treasure (your SELF) for their own purposes.

    It is a racket.

I can speak only for myself and the few that I knwo but, I have never felt or viewed grace in that way.

I do NOT go to church, outside of a special invite or such. I do not feel compelled to do any of what you mentioned.

I do not believe in ANY CURSE.

15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is justified d not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. e And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, f and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law. 17 But if, in our effort to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have been found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 But if I build up again the very things that I once tore down, then I demonstrate that I am a transgressor. 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; 20 and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, g who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification h comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

Galations was written, typicall dated that is, at 54 AD, 2o years after Christ was Ressurected.

High Evangelist Welcome to the board, if you hold a watchtower and Bible up to a witness and ask which is the final authority most will say it is the Bible but in practice they will always put the watchtower first. I knew a JW friend who disputed something in the watchtower he was given that option and when he chose the Bible the elder said wrong answer.

On planet watchtower there is no such thing as true grace. As far as preaching the gospel the JWs think they are ,but you must remember when reading the new testament the general rank and file witness do believe they have a heavenly hope so do not understand the full grace of God. Although most witnesses will try to apply the gospels in their life they all feel they are reading someone elses letter. Because they do not understand the spirit of God.
