What if God's existence was PROVEN TO BE TRUE?

Prodigal Son (That's what I'm talkin' about....most of it, anyway, with some variation)

    GLADIATOR

If God's existence was PROVEN TO BE TRUE scientifically, then the next step would be how to develop the means by which all people would learn how to communicate with Him/Her.

If God's existence was PROVEN TO BE TRUE because He/She personally revealed Him/Herself to the physical plane, then the next step would be actual communication as to how the earthly kingdom is to be set up and administered.

[1] How would that change reality as we know it? Reality wouldn't change. Our awareness of it would.

[2] Would it create a society where we no longer have free choices? No. It would create a perfect Government based on True Liberty and Justice for all. Each individual "sits under his own vine and fig tree" in that he/she is independent and takes care of their own needs. If there were no law other than "love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself", perfection would be achieved.

[3] How about personal responsibility? You will always be accountable.

I would like for he/she/it/them to show up and answer a few questions.

I don't understand the reasons for all of this. All my life I've heard lots of religions ordering their followers to love the creator or be tortured/exterminated that doesn't sound right or just look around and see the love. Okay, lots of death pain suffering disasters but look a beautiful flower that makes it all okay. I don't think so.

I would need to know what my OPTIONS are. Is he concerned with me and my decisions? Is there a Reward/Punishment dynamic? Etc, etc.

IF God were proven to exist and he claimed to be concerned with us, his creation, then I would have to say... Where the fuck you been and why are just now proving to everyone you exist? Are you a sadist or sumthin? You gotta lotta nerve showing up now and reaping all this worship when you let us wander around in darkness and doubt all those years.

Along with Ziddinia's line of thinking, I have to say which concept of god? The divine within or the divine without, or the combination of divine within/without and all around us. I think god as a corporeal being is pretty limiting, however common it is. A more amorphous proof of the Divine would mean very very profound changes in the average person's spirituality.

I'll bet everybody will be so awestruck that they will lose control of their bodily functions, just as occurred with some whose encounters with Him were recorded in the Bible.

Incidentally, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses seem to be the only ones who weren't overwhelmed while in His Presence.

    I wonder why.

    Listener:

I gather you haven't read the bible as there is much to say about this.
Firstly, God's existance is proven beyond a doubt, just look around you and see his creation. we also have a communication from him in the form of the bible in which he explains much about himself, his creations, the past and the future.
There are many that choose to ignore this as not tangible enough but it is clear fom the bible that no man is able to see God. At the time of Armageddon God has said that all people will come to know that he is God. Others may have opinions about this but it would appear that all will know that he is God because it will give those people who did not understand his existance an opportunity to worship him before his final judgement day.
The bible says that even Satan knows that Jehovah exists but chooses to express his own free will in being disobedient to him, we have that choice too and that is our responsibility.

I gather you haven't read the KORAN as there is much to say about this.

Firstly, ALLAH's existance is proven beyond a doubt, just look around you and see his creation. we also have a communication from him in the form of the KORAN in which he explains much about himself, his creations, the past and the future.

There are many that choose to ignore this as not tangible enough but it is clear fom the KORAN that no man is able to see ALLAH. At the time of Al-Malhama Al-Kubra, ALLAH has said that all people will come to know that he is ALLAH. Others may have opinions about this but it would appear that all will know that he is ALLAH because it will give those people who did not understand his existance an opportunity to worship him before his final judgement day.

The KORAN says that even IBLIS knows that ALLAH exists but chooses to express his own free will in being disobedient to him, we have that choice too and that is our responsibility.

    [EDIT: I'm not a Muslim, I'm a Sarcasafist.]

Why do you think that is, Sylvia?

What fascinates me is that our written documented history is so very young (less than 5,000 years). Archaeologists rely on fragmented material evidence in the form of bones, pottery shards, etc. to piece together the past. It's "99%" guesswork.

There is no way to know archaeologically (is that a word?) if these ancient patriarchs really did stand before our creator or His angels in some physical sense. Was the Shechinah actually visably available to their senses during this time? Archaeology can't tell us. Only the written accounts can. But, can we trust those translations of translations of translations.

For the same reason that the First Lady is not awed by the POTUS.

    She knows him intimately.

Yes, that's a word, but it's fashionable to leave out the second a.

I rely on the written word because of its internal harmony.
