Billy Graham says Christians Don't Actually Hear the Voice of God

The bible condones rape, therefore Yahweh condones rape (God doesn't change), therefore Jesus condones rape ("he who has seen me has seen the father", etc).

Its funny that I just spoke to someone about this. See, its the other way around. We have to look through Jesus to see the Father. Jesus does not condone rape, so his Father does not condone rape. ("he who has seen me has seen the father, etc").

(nor ever has condoned rape because He does not change)

WWs: "This thread brings up one of my main problems with Christianity. I believe it encourages delusional behavior and psychologically unhealthy ways of thinking."
Inkie: I could not agree with you more.

    This reminds me of... something....

Dr. Evil: All right, it's getting crowded in here. Everyone out. Everyone out. C'mon.
    [Everyone starts to leave]
Dr. Evil: Not you, Scottie. Not you, Number 2. Not you, Frau. Not you, Goldmember. Not you, guys back there. Not you, henchman holding wrench. Not you, henchman arbitrarily turning knobs, making it seem like you're doing something.
[Scott and Dr. Evil look at Mini Me]
Dr. Evil: Ohh, this is uncomfortable.
Goldmember: Heheheh, the tiny one can't take a hint, Heheheheh. He doesn't understand, he's small.

Aw, Tammy, why'd you have to get in on this?! I don't wanna argue with you!

So remind me, how do you view the bible?

So remind me of how you view the bible?

I have to go get my boys at school, be back in an hour or so... (short version, everything reconciled with Christ... since HE is the image of his father, and HE is the Word of God. I don't think the bible is inerrant - but has scripture, history, analogies, accounts that witness to Christ and events, etc)

Times are much different than in early bible history. When people said that God spoke to them in the wilderness people believed them. Today if you say such a thing it is a quick ride to the psychic ward. No leaving until you say it didn't happen either. People don't believe in God given dreams or God speaking to us something believed in thousands of years ago.

    SBC: To qoute you,

"But, wait, since those acts are incompatible with the concept of a god of love and that constitues one (of many) massive contradictions, I don't think the bible was written by a benevolent creator at all! So to answer your question I don't think god or christ condone rape anymore than Allah condones it." (Emphasis mine.)

And there you have it! C'est simple.

    I can't believe Chalam didn't post this.

    Joh 10:4

"When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5"A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers." 6This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them.

    I'm with Billy on this.

    The WT will never understand.

Anyone who claims to hear the voice of god in their head is either delusional, schizophrenic, lying or just really, really wasted.

    No offence.

Nicolaou from Buckinghamshire, England: Greetings and felicitations! It's the voice of Christ, not the voice of God. Two separate persons. And 'no offense' is taken. --Inkie from across the Pond.

So being called “ignorant” because one IS ignorant of something is not necessarily a denigrating term.

Except I am sure it would be certain that people understood your comment as denigrating. If people want to participate in a poll, we can find out.

    Here's the comment by Inkie:

Sometimes you all really amaze with your ignorance. No offense is intended, please. You’d think after being in the organization all the years you havethat at the very least, whether you agree with it or not, that you would at least know what the Bible does say; again, even if you don’t agree with it. Were you all asleep during all the meetings that you attended all those years? Or in your personal Bible studies? I mean, you must have gleaned something, yes? Something? Be that as it may. . . .

Watchtower Witness: Encouraging schizophrenic behavior is not morally ethical and it‘s also very dangerous.

I am so happy that others "get it." Thanks WW.

Inkie: Just so you know, OT, I do not subscribe to Christianity. I hope that is made plain and clear to you here. To use your word, I “subscribe” to Jah’s Son, the Christ. Quite a different thing from Christianity. Okay?

    Toe-mah-toe, toe-may-toe.

Inkie: In THAT post, OT, I stated that the Voice said to me to remove the headphones because my wife was going to say something to me. Is that clear? The Voice told me to listen to my wife—regardless of what she was going to say. Is that clear? It was my wife who was concerned about ‘feeding the dog’ and about the ‘mailing of a package.’

When you slow down and calm down from your anger at my pointing out this silly claim of yours, you can re-read what I said: Maybe if I don't feed my fish or get my letters in the mail, God will speak through my wife to get my attention. As far as the difference: Toe-mah-toe, toe-may-toe.
