tec = you then commit no sin?

Sorry, Booby. I'm sharing my computer with a twelve year old boy who just got World of Warcraft for his birthday, or I'd have responded sooner. But I'm not sure what you're asking me here? I, personally, sin plenty.

Sometimes I might want some things, but if they are against God's will... then I don't want Him to grant me them. His will comes first (in reality) as well as for me, over my own will.

Doesn't this preclude sinning. It was the point the watchtower article seemed to infer for my thinking.

Greetings, dear WS and dear Miz Syl (the greatest of love and peace to you both - I love you both! and Miz Sylvie... your response almost made me burst into tears - which often happens when I step out on faith and post what I hear... before I see proof such as what may be written somewhere... and then undergo the, well, let's just say "chagrin"... if not downright hostile malice... of unbelievers).

I must say that it really IS amazing to me... that folks spend SO much time arguing... rather than asking... or even worse, even bothering to look things up. They come here and either disparage the Bible... or completely, adamantly, and blindly defend it... with neither side even knowing what it SAYS. Blows me away. Truly. Amazes me... every day.

Dearest, dear Chalam... the greatest of love and peace to you! Please, call on whatever name you wish - I only posted what I know to be true. Which is what I should have done, right? And it get the fear, somewhat, as the WTBTS played fast and loose with our Father's name. But, as I've always said, you do NOT have to take MY word for it, not at all. If "Jesus" is the name you wish to call on, then, please... by all means.

I have to profess to you, however, that I am not born again... yet. I am awaiting that birth, however, when I am born... in the spirit. Only then can I enter [fully] into the kingdom. For now, I am just a seed... which my Lord is still "watering." But I understand what you mean... and I thank you... for YOUR love.

Dear NVL (peace to you!)... goodness, man. Okay, you are "correct" (seriously, as you truly THAT pendantic?) . I should have clarified that "some Jews" indeed spoke other languages (such ones also usually lived elsewhere and usually journeyed to the region only for commerce or worship). Because the initial reference had to do with my Lord's name, however, I assumed (which I shouldn't have done with you, obviously), that folks would know I was referring to the Jews in the region... those "near" and [slightly] "abroad"... who had actually HEARD the name, perhaps even from my Lord himself... and not, for example... the ones that were thousands of miles away. Also, I included the example of Paul being a Roman because... he was also [very] well-educated. He spoke all three/four languges (Hebrew/Aramaic, Greek, and Latin)... which is shown by who he spoke WITH... including, often, high officials of all three/four tongues. So, now, thank YOU for playing...

    Peace to you all!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

SA, who must now hit the freeway, so... C-Ya!!

Nope. Just that when we are getting news right fresh from heaven, it makes sense that it draw upon firm conclusions.

Also, I included the example of Paul being a Roman because... he was also [very] well-educated. And yet Paul speaking all of those languages is still conjecture. I often speak with people that speak Hindi, Spanish, Russian, Croatian and Greek but that does not mean I understand those languages. It conversely doesn't not mean they speak French, which I used to be able to speak semi-fluently.

    Keep playing.

Booby - I don't think so. In fact, I know it isn't so in my case because I do sin. Such as not praying for someone because I'm angry at them. That's a sin. In fact, I think the anger and everything that stems from it is a sin. Doing something for myself without caring or even thinking about how it might hurt someone else, just because I really really want it... that's a sin. Pride, which I am guilty of often enough, is a sin.

I don't want to sin, or do anything against His will, but I still do them... out of weakness, out of fear, out of selfishness, out of ignorance, out of whatever reason. So despite not wanting to sin, I still do... and so am grateful for the mercy that he grants and I need.

However, Jesus never desired such a future because it was not Jehovah's will for him.

I think this could be taken two ways. 1) the way you understood it, that Jesus could literally not sin because it was not God's will for him. ie, no free will, and 2) the way I understand it, that Jesus wanted to do his father's will, (with his free will and not because it was imposed upon him, regardless of whether he might have personally hoped for something else - such as when he prayed to have the cup taken away - the torture and death coming for him - yet not by his own will, only by his father's) out of faith and love for his father.

Ahhh, yes the great finger pointing guilt trip card when someone called you out on your nonsense and drew blood. I sorta seen that coming. I remember in middle school and high school a bully would take the chance and pick with me because he heard that Jehovah's Witnesses don't fight, which translated to his feeble brain that he could run all over any JW he came across. Then he'd run into a JW such as myself who didn't hear the same rumor about JWs and proceed to chin check him. When we'd both come back from being suspended for three days, he'd make amends with me and say something along the line of "My fault man, you got heart for being one of those Jehovahs." Funny how that same sentiment doesn't change as one gets older and reaches adulthood. The first job I had I worked with a guy who was stressed about child support. He had a funny way of showing it though, and tried making my life difficult on the job. Me being a 17 year old kid, he expected me to be intimidated by him. Him being a biker type, well more of a weekend warrior anyway, with tattoos and a Harley, avid gun lover, hunter, unshaven, pony tail despite being in his thirties, etc, he thought he had me intimidated. He thought wrong. I didn't get the memo to fear his demographic. I caught him back where he was welding, with nobody around and put the fear of God in him. The next day he apologized. We actually became quite close as a result. I miss him nowadays as he passed away early. He told me later as we got close, that part of the beef he had with me was because he thought I was a self righteous JW who thought I was better than him, and he apologized because his view towards me was inaccurate. The reality was the child support was weighing on him heavy and he wasn't seeing things clearly. I never advertised being a JW at the time, it sorta came out due to a holiday dinner and I showed a lack of experience in being diplomatic when those holiday situations come up. At the time I didn't realize you don't present the JW excuse of not celebrating holidays the same as you do when in school. I've made that mistake a couple times since then, but I'm learning.

The reason I'm telling you this NobleLodge, is because, I don't hide my feelings or thoughts on this forum. I also make it a point to not hide my many flaws and weaknesses. I'm a man for all the bad that comes with it. Very imperfect. Every day I do and think something I regret. So don't think you can toss that "you're an Elder, you should speak to me better" attitude my way, cuz it means absolutely jack to me. The reality is you got all self righteous over me finding a post by WingCommander humorous, and you called me out on it. So I responded and the best you could respond with was, "you're an Elder!" If your husband doesn't believe I'm an Elder, thats fine, it costs him nothing. Tell him to pay me no mind. If he has a knight in shining armor on a white horse view of Elders, or anything in this organization for that matter, than he's grossly naive, and I hope he joins you in being conscious.

At any rate if you really mean it, peace to you as well. I say that genuinely. By the way, yes you did touch a nerve. Sorry for posting on this thread. I probably should have sent her a PM. I apologize.

You have made an unwarranted and vicious attack on Shelby.

There is a saying, true words are not kind and kind words are not true.

I wouldn't have been so blunt. However, I get in trouble for just using the word, doormat.
