That is just it, Christ is the ideal to strive for, "be perfect as your father is perfect" Christ said.
From my experience everyone who associates themselves with a Christian denomination is nothing like him.

Most Christians I have come across are blatant hypocrits.
As a "people" I agree with Ghandi's observation:
"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
