Nice to see you back Dan. Well all of those statements attributed to 'Jesus' are the things that make any Jew or a student of Judaism realize that this person didn't really understand Judaism. The person you now believe in condemns people to eternal suffering, that is not a Jewish Belief. Sad really that this 'person' became popular and that this cruel notion spread to the various cultures around the world, it brought with it a lot of misery and entrapment to ancient myths and folklore.

For an enlightened study of the progress in Judaism research the period of 500BC to200AD, one of the three main Golden Ages of Judaism. Then compare it to Paul and Jesus of the NT and begin asking the questions about who were these two really.

well, i have to admit to being a bit miffed by Dan right now...

why crap on this forum after all the help and support lately?

I personaly find the JW who jumps to jesus salvation yadda yadda a trifle puzzling.

finaly free to think for themselves but cant even get past the 'good book' and consider, and i mean really consider, alternative belief systems.

sorry Dan but i wont be checking out the blog...but all the best as you battle for your family

Matthew 8:11,12 says, "I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,12 while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The followers of Allah ain't athiests, Dan.

Is your god bigger and tougher than their god?

Is your god going to burn Muslims and Mormons and Moonies in hell too?

Brotherdan, I was once exactly where you are at in your journey...so I know what you feel like at this time. I also have to say that quite frankly, these 2 sentences:

"They live for themselves. And they seem happy to be accountable to no one besides themselves."

are off the wall, inaccurate, and completely judgmental- throwing a blanket generalization on a group of people using a Watchtower definition. You have also, as NotVeryLikely stated, used a few out-of-context verses to sum up your generalizations. I know you are in a transitional period right now...and no one knows where the journey will take you too. My suggestion- read, research, and do not be afraid to read opposing viewpoints. if your beliefs and convictions are well-founded, they will only be strenthened.

My point is this: There are people who like to dance around the issues and say "Christ taught love and not judgement" and are willing to make exceptions on what God Himself said. I am not one of those. I've told you guys from the beginning that I am not afraid to go where truth leads.

The problem with that Dan is that it is NOT YOUR PLACE to decied who is "righteous" and why, it is God's and Jesus's, it is NO ONE ELSES palce to make that call, ever.

What you need to realize is that, WE are ALL sinners, regardless of what proclamation comes from our mouths, that is why Jesus said that many will call him "Lord" but he will not know them.

Being a Christian is not something t take lightly, it is being an imitator of Christ, not of Man or organizations, but of Christ.

As a Christians we follow the teachings of Christ AND we have the belief that Christ is the way, the ONLY way, but we also need to realize what THAT WAY is not only for US, but for those that have not yet "found Christ".

Christ will NOT turn his back on a person who does good, lives well, loves others, a person that follows the WAY of Christ even if tha person doesn;t follow Christ per say. Christ KNOWS why some do not believe, Christ KNOWS why some cna't beleive and that is why ONLY HE and Our Father can judge them.

Leave that to them Dan, for us, as Christians, we follow the example fo Christ and that example is "Judge not", "forgive" and "Love your enemy".

PSac- your words are timely but there is a militancy in christianity that takes Jesus words about him being the 'only way' that grabs certain personality types by the short hairs and won't let go.

I understand that, but that is not right.

How can we, as Christians, be "OK" with doing the very thing that drives people away from Christ?

Now I know many don't believe that, many believe that who coems to Christ is already "written", but if that was the case, Christ would not have warned his disciples about being a "stumbling block" to those in search of Him.

Look, for a person to make the proclamation that Christ is the way, the ONLY way to God and believe it requires great faith in Christ and greatfaith in his teachings, but even Jesus said that "If you don't beleive me, believe my works" and those works were not only his miracles BUT his teachings of Love.

When Jesus came he came for the "lost sheep" of Israel and when he left, he left his disciples in charge of proclaiming the Word to the rest of the world and that word is that there is salvation in no one else but Jesus.

As Christians we believe that, but we also have to understand that not everyone has received that message, some have been polluted and coorupted by false messages as to what Christ truly is, and for some that damamge is irreversible by MAN, but as Jesus said, " For man it is immpossible, but not for God".

We preach our message of love and Christ, thatis all we can truly do, the rest we MUST leave to God.

BUT if our message or more correctly the way we preach it, is the cause of people truning aways from Christ and God, then WE are to blame and WE will have to answer for it.

PSac- to bad you didn't live in 200AD (although the Bishops would have strung you up or burned your ass) Manifest Destiny took hold and the past 1800 years of subjugation by 'Christians' are in the history books, sadly.
