PSac- your words are timely but there is a militancy in christianity that takes Jesus words about him being the 'only way' that grabs certain personality types by the short hairs and won't let go.
I understand that, but that is not right.
How can we, as Christians, be "OK" with doing the very thing that drives people away from Christ?
Now I know many don't believe that, many believe that who coems to Christ is already "written", but if that was the case, Christ would not have warned his disciples about being a "stumbling block" to those in search of Him.
Look, for a person to make the proclamation that Christ is the way, the ONLY way to God and believe it requires great faith in Christ and greatfaith in his teachings, but even Jesus said that "If you don't beleive me, believe my works" and those works were not only his miracles BUT his teachings of Love.
When Jesus came he came for the "lost sheep" of Israel and when he left, he left his disciples in charge of proclaiming the Word to the rest of the world and that word is that there is salvation in no one else but Jesus.
As Christians we believe that, but we also have to understand that not everyone has received that message, some have been polluted and coorupted by false messages as to what Christ truly is, and for some that damamge is irreversible by MAN, but as Jesus said, " For man it is immpossible, but not for God".
We preach our message of love and Christ, thatis all we can truly do, the rest we MUST leave to God.
BUT if our message or more correctly the way we preach it, is the cause of people truning aways from Christ and God, then WE are to blame and WE will have to answer for it.
