Is "Kingdumb Hall" really an offensive term? (page 5)

A lot of folks on this board have been damaged by the organization Nick. We can only estimate how many have been treated badly. In my extended family 80% have experienced unacceptable behavior from persons in authority. If there is a god every religion will have to answer for it's sin's.........a pleasent thought.

Yes, I understand what you are saying, Giordano, and I understand the emotional dynamic and why it is so. I have a profound loathing for the WTBTS myself and I realise there are some dispicable individuals who frequent the Kingdom Halls. But there are also many good people who are victims of the WTBTS whose delusions will only be entrenched by the perceived persecutions they are constantly told to expect. If my ambition is to open someone's mind and help them escape the Watchtower, venom and vitriol make my job more difficult.

No. But you're unfair, Sabastious. I trust that by the end of my post you won't be saying that this is an insult. Because you're being unfair indeed.

The first "wrong" should have never happened, and everyone on this board knows it. You know it too. What I mean, lest someone forgets, is that Jehovah's witnesses call other people names, and despise other religions, not just because there is filth in the people or the churches, but, above all, because they are convinced that morally they are far above anyone else. That is a huge lie, and everyone knows it, including the sanctimonious who are still in, or those lurking, or those checking this website so they can identify someone and have him or her disfellowshippped inthe congregation. Even if they were morally superior, WHICH THEY ARE NOT, then they should always be the bigger person and respect others. But that does not happen.

And you, Sabastious, are saying that people should not call Jehovah's witness names, not to use derogatory terms for their religion and their practices, but you are nowhere near demanding that Jehovah's witnesses do the same thing with respect to others. Since you are, or were, a Jehovah's witness, it is fair to suspect that you have some bias here.

This does not have to be true only because it's my opinion, but it's always unfair to demand that the reasonable people, the so-called inferiors, always be the bigger people as well. And I'm saying this because, even if anyone were to ask them, there is no chance at all that Jehovah's witnesses will stop calling people names, or despising other religions, or the unbelievers. Many of them must be deluded, yes, but they are still doing what they are doing. Since it is impossible to reason with them, then those who were insulted first are to turn the other cheek every time.

And this is supposedly because a lurker will back off when they see the "wrong" terms used here. Sorry, but I won't let you tell me what is right and what is wrong. I can do that myself.

I have never failed to make a JW grudgingly laugh..It`s funny to watch..

I had JW ladys out at my old ranch..I had some fun with them..

They had no idea how to deal with me..LOL!!..They eventually gave up and said good-bye..

They wandered back down the ranch driveway..When they tried to start thier car,it would`nt start..

I have no idea what sort of husband would allow their Mrs to drive a piece of crap so far away from civilization..

I either fix the car or I`m stuck with a carload of JW ladys in the middle of Nowhere..LOL!!..

I went and got my tools..I had it running in no time..

The ladys were grateful and literally drove off into the sunset,waving good-bye....LOL!!
