I'm sorry if my hesitance to jump ship is frustrating to some of you but I need to do things at my own pace and in my own time.

Yes, you do. Sometimes it's frustrating to watch, as we've already done it and it seems so painfully obvious to us. But you have to figure it out for yourself, otherwise you're just taking someone else's word for it...again. So keep it up and take it slow, consider it carefully, and take a break if you need to. And it's easy to get obsessed and feel like you have to know everything. I've spent many a sleepless night doing that. Sometimes it helps to just take a step back for a few days and think about the big picture. What do the things you know add up to? I don't know everything there is to know about this religion, but I do know more than enough to convince me this isn't the truth.

I wish you and your husband well in whatever decision you make; and remember, we're all here for you if you need support or just to vent or whatever.

Thanks DanaBug... your sentiments are appreciated.

You're right about getting obsessed. I'm finding that my brain doesn't shut off even while I'm sleeping. I seem to be processing everything 24/7 these days.

That's completely normal. But you'll want to rein it in or it can take over. It might help to keep a journal and when something pops up, like in the middle of the night, just write it down and then look it up later. That also helps to keep things in focus. Anwer the questions you write down, so you don't feel like you're spinning in circles with all this new information.

Nick and Dana have made some good points. I agree with them.

Thank you for giving your perspective, headisspinning, and for understanding how and why some of us can get frustrated. I don't think any of us are telling you what to do, just where to get the information you need so that you will KNOW what to do. Right now you are where you were three months ago only more stressed out. If/when you learn the truth, the stress will be over and you can start living again.

The unloving nature of the organization that you have experienced isn't an anomaly. It is common. They don't know love. They know how to ACT loving toward people who CONFORM to their rules, but that isn't love. It's hypocrisy. Paul said, "let your love be without hypocrisy," and he was talking about the very behaviors this organization routinely engages in. You are learning it firsthand but just don't want to believe it.

    Armageddon isn't coming.

God isn't going to punish you for living your lives.

Be kind. Raise you kids to love people unconditionally and to serve others in real tangible ways (not by simply giving them a book or magazine). That's all God wants.

Aren't you even a little bit curious why a Governing Body member would walk out on them? Crisis of Conscience tells you why.

To DanaBug.... yeah very good suggestions. I have to pace myself for sure!

To Mad Sweeney... that's a very good point about the conditional love in the congregations. I have had an issue with that for years. My sister left for a while (she wasn't baptized) but I always made sure that she knew she was loved no matter what. My husband and I actually had her living with us even though she wasn't involved in the religion because first and foremost she was my sister.

And yes, I am very curious and I actually tried to order the book off Amazon just last night - it's currently out of stock.

You didn't 'notice' anything, Jook. I posted a link right in this thread to my previous thread in case anyway wanted to know the whole story. Since then we have appealed to the brothers again and they haven't replied.

I have been very honest about what happened and I'm not proud of it. A lot of people were hurt and I will always have a burden of guilt.
