Emery was a founding member of the Detroit SWAT team back in the 70's. Detroit is incredibly violent. He had a good friend on the team named Frank who always gave him a hard time about his Christianity. Didn't bother Emery who was a former Shiite Muslim.
One day while they were in the van awaiting orders to go into a rats nest of armed drug dealers, Emery felt the strong urging of the Holy Spirit to witness to Frank AGAIN. Emery asked Frank if he would accept Jesus as the Lord of all. This time Frank didn't argue .... but just stared at him. He said nothing.
They had a new leiutenent that day who asked Frank to go in first. Usually Emery went in first because he was short and that was the kind of guy Emery is. He asked Frank to disobey orders and allow him to go in first as usual. But Frank said not to worry about it. When they busted in, it was totally dark. The punk fired at Frank and hit him under the armpit where there was no armor.
The gunfire of the drug dealer gave away his position. Emery says that the Lord "lit him up" for him. He fired 11 shots and 7 found their mark. Unfortunately Frank died that day having just been given a last chance to accept the Lord and misssed it.
For all the unsaved, the biggest question of their short lives is: When will be their last opportunity before accepting Jesus as Lord? And make no mistake, there will be a last one just as their was for Frank.
Is Frank burning in hell right now?

Not afraid, really.
Just wishing it didn't have to be.

Just curious, what do you believe will happend to someone like me in that periode? is this the 1/3 of the worlds population will die-thing from revelations?
bohn,
The bible says the every good gift comes from above. That means all possible comfort. The sunshine, cool water, flowers, love, friendship, family, charity, respect, acheivement ....everything conceivable to you that is good comes from God, either directly or indirectly. In this life, God gives many of these good things to the (declared) righteous as well as the wicked. When people deny God and wish separation from him, they experience a total lack of ALL OF THOSE THINGS when they head off into eternity.
Hell is the utter lack of ANYTHING good, which is exactly what people ask for when they reject Jesus ALONE, since all good ultimately comes from him. It can be no other way. The lack of all possibility of good for an eternity is frightful.
Our God is a consuming God. Like a fire, God consumes evil by his very presence. That is why those that wish separation from him experience absolutely nothing good apart from him in eternity.
...so is frank in hell, Penny?

I believe you and others will experience hardships, also, but Christians will bear the brunt of the tribulation.

Nope. I do not yet have a handle on the 1/3 thingy.
