How about the whole book of Ecclesiastes? You wanna base you life on things written in a time when each nation had their own god, like Baal and Chemosh? Those gods were as real to those people as Yahweh was to the Israelites. We don't believe those gods ever existed, but somehow Yahweh does? That's nuts!
Oh, dear! How far from reality have some of us slipped?
transhuman,
This is the exact question Born-Again Christians ask themselves when addressing the complete lack of logic that would allow a person such as yourself to no doubt agree that laws and punishment are necessary for any concept of the notion of Justice, but then turn around and deny the author of Justice the same rights you reserve for yourself and others.
Unless you are an extreme anarchist.
the author of Justice
LOL. Who is the author of Justice? There is no justice meted out by the christian god- only atrocities that make Pol Pot look good...
I stopped reading a few posts above this to ask what I have asked of Perry before. Where exactly is hell?
Perry reminds me of the Pied Piper sometimes... can't work out why exactly...
Are we starting over on this again startingover?
Perry how do you answer the accusation that you are messing with people's minds, keeping them in fear of things that don't exist to further your own ambition?
Transhuman,
The term God means All-Good, All-Powerful, All-Knowing. In order to use this word you must use the same definition. Since you agree to use the concept of God as a literary term at the least, how would you know who was right if you ever disagreed with God?
If you are saying God is not Good. (Or at least God isn't Just ....same thing) That is an impossibility by the inherent contradiction of terms.
If Jesus isn't God, how would you know for sure? Furthermore, without being God yourself, how could you condemn the judgments of God, since God is the standard and author of Good?
How about this one: Is the killing of innocent people ever justified? What if the killing of a few innocent people cause the preservation of life for many innocent people like it did in Hiroshima?
Interested in your thoughts.
The gods of the Bible never existed. If there is a god, it is NOTHING like anyone described in the Bible.
You know that.
