Designs....that's cool. I'll continue keeping less environmental impact that I can in the oil sands. We will continue to clean up all that sand from the oil in it.

Palmtree: I think the Republicans are going to try to attach legislation for the Canadian pipleline to a tax cut bill. Obama has been adamant against it.

"fossil fuel" is one of the biggest hoaxes ever invented. Take the Gulf of Mexico spill, do you actually believe that drilling over a mile underground they got fuel because dinosaurs used to live a mile underground?

Underground, the earth is filled with it's own pipes, filtration system (for water), and the heat of the magma, somewhere along those lines oil gets produced, and like a volcano pressure builds up, eventually seeps out of the ground. The only possibility is of certain wells being pumped faster then the earth produces, but they are not remains of 'fossils', it's made by the Earth.

And if your asking why oil companies knowing this, would keep up with the lie AND want to keep buying up more land to drill? 1. The lie keeps prices inflated. 2. It's on controlling the supply vs using it all, which is why many buy out but never do anything with the land, or hold leases but don't use it, they want control of all known sources to drill it and keep competition out. Enjoy getting ploughed more by big oil and being sheeple to their lies, you got out of the WT lies but your still sheeple to big oil.

    EOM,

You're not saying anything that I and everyone else in the oil industry wouldn't agree with. (......Although mining the oilsands and deep sea drilling are quite different and impact the environment quite differently, too.)

But until there is some magical fairy fuel readily and inexpensively available and/or you are willing to give up all products and services associated with oil.......the fact is: the world is dependant on it right now. And it's not going anywhere any time soon.

My point in this thread was to debate the oilsands as being one of the most ethical sources of oil we have.

Do you want your oil from Canada? Or from countries like Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Venezuela, etc which are far less ethically responsible?

Ensuring a pre-holiday collision course with the Senate, House Republicans Friday ignored criticism from President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats and formally unveiled a bill that extends the payroll tax cut and benefits for jobless Americans, but ties those items to a provision that clears a path toward approving the Keystone XL pipeline.

Senate Democrats bristled at the inclusion of the controversial pipeline -- which would eventually run from Canada though the Midwest to the Gulf of Mexico -- and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid promised it would not pass in the Senate.

Since we, the USA, already imports oil and natural gas from Canada how much greater capacity does the Keystone Pipeline offer.

if the power was to go out tomorrow due to solar flares, we would have to figure out real quick how to deal without oil.

and that is the issue. we are all so comfortable in our oil dependancy that we don't WANT to have to get off of it. we WANT the easy out - OIL.

force the humans to come up with a different method of power, and we will do it.

it will be painful for a while, but i bet within 1-2 years evrything would be up and running again, oil free.

pro oil people remind me of drug addicts. always justifying the wrong.

i pray for the solar flares. screw oil. electric cars have more torque potential anyways.

go look at the tailings ponds and tell me what the plan is for them. then tell me oil is ethical.

OIL IS THE DEVIL AND WE ALL ARE ADDICTED.

we all need an intervention. bring the flares.

Do your research before you spout off. Then you would know the plan.

I've seen the ponds. Have you?

I've done the research. Have you?
