Cofty, I am so sorry. Hearing from a Dr that you have cancer is everyones worst nightmare. When they told hubby that he had cancer we went into shock, then denial, then a feeling of hopelessness as they told him he only had 6 months..I am so glad you are catching yours in time to do something about it and stop it. As others said keep a positive attitude and focus on destroying the disease..I really think it works.

    Big hug to you ..

I've just been studying cancer in my biology classes as of late. It's a scary thing, but not unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination. Medical science has come a long way in understanding and treating cancer. The important thing is that you caught it so that treatment can start. Just keep a positive attitude and stay strong. Keep us in the know, and good luck.

Snoozy - I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's prognosis. This was the news I was fearing but I was relieved the news was better than that.

JonathanH - I was reading about the mechanism of cancer a while ago. If I'm not mistaken there are a cascade of up to 5 mutations that have to happen in a cell before it becomes cancerous. I think the real cures will happen in the future with drugs that can attack it a genetic level.

Thanks again everybody, your sentiments are really appreciated, I meet my oncologist next Friday then I'm sure it will all seem a bit more real to me. It still feels theoretical at the moment.

Ahh, dear Cofty... peace to you, truly! I am very sorry to hear this news, but very glad and encouraged to read of your positive outlook and hope. As I've posted before, the flesh is one of our greatest enemies, a betraying lover if there ever was one. Although many have already kindly offered that you are in their thoughts and/or prayers, I hope you don't mind one more such sentiment. If not, then, while you are in my thoughts... please know that I will also keep you... and your household... in my prayers.

Again, peace to you (and yours)... and may JAH bless!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,
